Im not sure carriers are measured in pounds, but SSB is a supressed carrier mode, in SSB only one sideband is transmitted and the carrier is inserted at the other end in the receiver. In AM mode the carried and both sidebands are transmitted. with regular am there is a carried and when modulation (your voice) is added a signal appears both above and below the carrier frequency at a distance relative to the frequency of your voice. so if you have a carrier at 1000 khz and modulated it with a tone of 100 hertz the signal will contain frequencies of 900,1000, and 1100 hertz, then its changed to SSB by supressing the carrier (1000) and one sideband (1100) if you are on lower sideband and (900) if you one upper sideband, and transmits the remaining frequency.

Need manuel for uniden bearcat trunktracker iii police scanner

Check your scanner for a model number. I have found an online manual for the Uniden BCT15X from Uniden: . This model has the TrunkTracker III logo to the upper left of the LCD screen. The Uniden logo is to the lower left of the LCD screen. The model number is given above the upper right of the LCD screen. Then the Bearcat logo is below the right side of the LCD screen. Some other Uniden scanner manuals are available here: . Scroll down to the Individual Scanners section to find the links.

I hope these links help.

How so i pick station on my Radio Shack police scanner?

I have never used a scanner of that type but I have seen them in use and know the principle of operation.

If you are certain the radio is working and have checked with the instruction manual that you are operating it the correct way with any squelch control turned down and the volume turned up there should be a loud hissing from the speaker indicating the radio is ready to receive as soon as it is either tuned to the specific frequency of a station by direct entry or by scanning one or more bands of frequencies.

If there is no hissing noise it is possible the audio output is faulty or the aerial is not connected or the radio is otherwise faulty.

If the hissing noise is present and powerful and still nothing is being received it is possible there is nothing to receive or a more powerful aerial is needed.
It is worth noting many scanners available in the past tended to scan bands of frequencies in the upper and lower vhf bands where the aircraft, marine and emergency services radios operated. Since those days many of those services have moved their communications into the UHF bands leaving the vhf bands relatively empty.

The slug fell out out the coil in the TX RF amp chain. how do I adjust it/

The slugs don't normally just fall out on their own. Someone had to be trying to adjust it without knowing what was going on. If the slug is gone then the radio transmitter is probably out of tune.
You need a new slug and a small piece of rubber band. The rubber band goes in the hole right beside the slug and a good starting point would be about one -one and a half thread up from flush.(that is if your talking about the slug right in front of the final.) Please don't try to tune a radio with out a tune up manual and proper equipment.

My radio 148gtl d has low modulation

The Modulation adjustment is VR5, or you can cut D9, though I do not recommend completely disabling the AMC circuit. If VR5 does not have enough range, lift the banded end of D9 & solder a 1K-ohm resistor in series with the diode, then adjust for 100% modulation or to where the AMC circuit just starts to limit modulation.

I cant tune my Uniden BC60XLT-1 Handheld Scanner

you need to know the frequency you want to listen in on like local fire police and sheriff and ambulance channels you can go to bear-cat web site and they have a company there that will give you the scanner frequencies in your area code so you can store then to listen to them, you can also get the Freq. for the 1.2 million UN peace keepers in the U.S. as well. However you need to im put the frequencies manually and you need the manual so go to the web site for the uniden it's and read how to store the freq. codes in the scanner. it will tell you how many you can store I think it's up to 10.

My scanner is locked on hypersearch. How do I get

Answer: Hypersearch can only be turned on and off through a limit or direct search. To turn it off, you should do the following: Through Limit Search:
  1. Press PROG, then LIMIT (SRC). Lo and 29.000 MHz appear. 29.000 MHz is the low end of the scanner's range.
  2. Enter the frequency that is the lower limit of the range you want to search (including the decimal point), then press E (SVC).
  3. Press LIMIT (SRC). Hi and 1300.00 MHz appear. 1300.000 MHz is the upper limit of the scanner's range.
  4. Enter the frequency that is the upper limit of the range you want to search (including the decimal point), then press E (SVC) again.
  5. Press \/ to search from the upper to the lower limit or /\ to search from the lower to the upper limit.
  6. While the scanner is searching or is on a transmission, press H/S.
  7. HYPER should disappear from the display.
Through Direct Search:
  1. Press MAN.
  2. Enter the frequency you want to start from using the number keys. (Press . to enter a decimal point). NOTE: To start the search from a frequency already stored in one of your scanner's channels, press MAN or PROG. Then use the number keys to enter the channel number and then press MAN or PROG again. If you enter an invalid frequency, the scanner displays Error. Press MON/CLR (.).
  3. Press \/ to search downward or /\ to search upward from the selected frequency. -d-, SEARCH, and either \/ or /\ appear.
  4. While the scanner is searching or is on a transmission, press H/S.
  5. HYPER should disappear from the display.
