I have exact same problem. Let me know if you find an answer.
No dial tone. I can call out and reach number (though no sound) so connections are there but just no sound.
For incoming calls, phone rings, pick it up, no sound.
if the phone has a recharger on the station, you may want to buy rechargeable batteries since the above are normal not rechargeable. You shouldn't use normal batteries in the phone if it charges them in the charger, could leak or explode.
PIN restore Gigaset 4010/4015 base If the PIN code forgotten your Siemens Gigaset 4010 / 4015 base (Classic / Comfort / Micro) then follow these steps to create the reset:
* Take the power cord out * Press the button and on the bottom of the base and hold * Insert the adapter into the outlet, hold the base button * Wait 30 seconds, keep the button pressed * Wait 10 more seconds and remove the adpter from the outlet * Put the adapter back in
Unfortunately the 4010 model does not have a built in answering machine but does have features to work with your local telephone companies voice mail. If you want to keep your same phones and get a base with a built in answering machine you will need to replace your 4010 base with a 4015 base (up to three handsets), or a 4215 base (up to four handsets). But don't toss out your old base, you can use it to extend your range if you ever use a 4200 series handset that will allow you to register each handset to up to four seperate bases simultaneously to extend the range. You can buy the 4015 or 4215 base only and save yourself some money. You can google Siemens cordless repair or go to the Siemens website to find a few options.
