Question about Samsung Syncmaster 940BW LCD Monitor

Open Question

How to open the Samsung Sycnmaster 940BW housing?

One of the mounting brackets has broken off inside and I am afraid it may short out something if I apply power to it now. Do you know you to open the housing? There are no obvious screws to remove. Thanks for any guidance you can offer.

SOURCE: How do I open my Samsung 2233sw LCD monitor?

I just installed a lot of this model at the office, it should be under warranty. If it failed and you try to get it fix under warranty, they may be able to tell that it has been tampered with.

If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). It is best to take the monitor to a TV, Monitor, or Electronics Repair Shop when problems like this occur. If the image is seen on the screen, but is very dark, then the backlights for the screen have gone bad and the screen must be replaced. If there is no image on the screen, the problem could be with the display control board.

How do secure this DW to the inside top of cabinet... there are no holes to skrew through!

This is sort of strange, you give no info on what kind, model brand anything.
I will try to help anyway though. most dishwashers come with TWO REMOVABLE BRACKETS that clip to the top.
A single short wood screw goes through the bracket into the underside of the counter top.
IF YOU HAVE A SOLID SURFACE OR GRANITE COUNTER TOP, you might have to side mount the dishwasher. You might have to order the side mount brackets from the manufacturer or a parts house. Some stainless models have a little removable plug on each side that will accept a wood screw that goes into the cabinets on each side.
If you need more information please give us the brand and model number of the dishwasher.

Dryer doesnt start, 600 series kenmore

Q - My dryer is dead, what could do that ?
A - Common problems...blown house fuse/tripped breaker ( electric dryers need 2 )...loose white/neutral wire...broken belt ( on some models only )...door switch/door switch bracket...*thermal fuse open ( venting needs attention )...broken or burnt wire...timer...motor...burnt power cord/plug...start switch ( especially the ones with a built in relay switch )
* If you find a blown thermal fuse, always clean, change, adjust the venting system and vent hood first, then it is sometimes a good idea to replace the operating thermostat at the same time. This is a picture of -some- modern thermal fuses.
It doesn't work at all If your dryer doesn't work at all, it could be because of problems with:

Power from the house
Door switch
Thermal fuse
Wiring
Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? If you plug something else into the outlet, does it work? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.

Door switch If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch.

Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing.

If the fuse has blown, it has no continuity. When this happens, your dryer either just stops heating, or it doesn't work at all. Be sure to inspect the venting/heating system before replacing the fuse to put the dryer back into operation. (You can't re-set this type of fuse.)

Wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, burns and the connection breaks. In this has happened to your dryer, you need to replace the power cord and the terminal block inside the dryer to which the wire is attached.

Won't start. The start light flashes. Timer appears to be functioning.

You could have a couple of things going on that may cause your symptoms. First of all, unplug the dryer. If you can access the inside of the dryer check to see if the dryer belt is broken. On some dryer models if the dryer belt breaks a "broken belt relay" on the idler pulley near the motor will trip causing the motor to shut down. This is to prevent a broken belt from becoming wrapped around the motor shaft. Another possibility is a blown thermal fuse or thermal cut-out. Some dryer models have a thermal fuse mounted on the exhaust vent housing and is white in color. This should read a short. There should be a thermal cut-out mounted on the heating element housing as well. There will be a hi-limit thermostat mounted near it. The thermostat will have a resistance reading (can't remember exactly what it is), and the thermal cut-out should read a short. If the thermal c/o is bad, replace the hi-limit thermostat as well. Now if you have a thermal fuse or thermal cut-out problem, they generally blow for a reason. Check your dryer ducting for proper air flow and make sure its not clogged full of lint. Normally, a thermal problem is associated with your dryer overheating. Good luck and let me know if this helps.
