When I get into bioshock's first level, if I try and save the game or get to the end of the first part it shuts itself down to the desktop. i have nvidia 7800, 2GB of memory. What can I do to keep this from happening?
Try turning your graphics settings down to lowest and see if you still have the problem. If the problem does persist, I would recommend adding some more RAM to the system, another 2GB would be ideal. It could also be the video card overheating, so make sure your case is dust-free and the fans are working properly.

You may be using too much memory, so it doesnt have enough memory to do its functions. Un-install anything you dont use.
If this doesnt work, get the graphics card which is RECOMMENDED, NOT MINIMUM, simply because some games dont work on minimum.
If this still doesnt work, then get it checked out at a nearby Electronic Repair Store, and see what they make of it.
It could be one of the two problems: either the game you have is faulty or the game installed incorrectly. Now I assume you have a decent computer that can run this game and theres no problem playing it, try re-installing the game and trying again (save your saved games elsewhere so that it's not ereased when uninstalled). If you still have the problem after reinstalling thje game then it's the game itself that is faulty, claim your vendor to change the game (if you bought it) or download it again (if you downloaded it).
