I have the same piece of junk remote and it has been slowly losing functionality over the last two months. Strangely enough, the only thing mine WILL do is scroll through the channels. Toshiba is about useless but if your TV is still under warranty, I'd call them and complain if this doesn't work. They are out of the remotes so plan on waiting awhile.

Turn off the TV and all the other things the remote is set up to control. Best to just leave that room altogether. Remove the batteries from the remote. Then, in turn, press each of the silicon buttons on the remote from top to bottom. Do NOT move the mode select switch at the bottom. Make sure you've hit each and every button. Replace the batteries and go try to see if it will work. Supposedly, this removes the static electric charges from the contacts under the buttons and will occasionally get the remote to work again. I had no luck at all. I've been waiting six weeks for a replacement and still no dice. The fastest way to fix the problem is to just go to an outside supplier and buy another one for $30. Then should Toshiba actually ever send you a replacement, you'll have one for the next time it crashes and burns.

I have a Toshiba 37HL67 model LCD and there is also supposed to be a firmware upgrade needed for those type models. The odds of that being the problem are so remote as to not be considered, but you never know. You will have to contact Toshiba to find the nearest repair dealer and have them do the upgrade. The upgrade is pretty simple. You unplug the TV, remove the cover for the card insert on the back of the TV, insert the firmware card. Replug the TV, follow the instructions on the screen, unplug the TV when it's done, remove the card, reset the little cover, plug in the TV and let it reboot. Toshiba guarantees that they will make the service guy come to you, but they usually are too lazy and want you to bring the TV to them. Toshiba will force them to do it, but if you can just get them to give you the firmware card you can download the instructions. Hope this helps.

BTW, Nothing I did fixed my remote. I ended up finally getting hold of the Toshiba people who had to literally steal one out of a shipment of TVs and send it to me. I had no faith they would ever help, so I simultaneously ordered one from a company in NY I found on the internet. $19.95 and it solved everything. Of course three days after the new one arrived, here comes the free one from Toshiba so now I have a backup. Suggest you do same. Toshiba will tell you they are out of stock but complain loud and long. The squeaky wheel gets the grease in this situation. I'd also order one too. Money well spent. I have a feeling that 1) The new one will wear out about as fast as the old one did and 2) they are going to stop making them soon.

I have a Toshiba 19CV100U TV and a Toshiba CT-90275 remote control. My problem is that the dash button doesn't work so I can't put in digital channels. How do I fix this?

If your Toshiba TV does not have digital conversion built in, you will have to install a converter box and separate remote.

I have no idea what a "dash button" is or controls.
