With the given symptoms I say your tv developed a intermitant loose conection and now is an open conection and is not making contact ,A loose conection like this could be in the horizontal driver and output area but also check for any overheated components,if you are familiar with tv service this will be a good place to start looking,if you are not too familiar with tv service be safe and take the set to a servicer,it should not be an expensive repair.

My 39in Emerson TV won't turn on. When using remote or buttons on TV you see little red light flicker and hear a click but no sound or picture. What could be wrong????

It sounds like the power board is failing. If you have a meter you can check the 120 a/c voltage to the board then turn on tv even if you don't see or hear anything check to see if any a/c voltage come out of the main transformer don't know the required voltage from transformer

The power stand by light is on when i push the power button it stays red, the after a while of pushing the button it turnes green but all i get is a blue screen

YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE INPUT OF YOUR TELEVISION SET TO THE CORRECT SOURCE. FOR EXAMPLE: HDMI1, AUDIO VIDEO IN, YPBR INPUT ETC, YOU CAN DO THIS BY THE USE OF YOUR TV REMOTE.

I have an Apex Digital TV Converter box # DT250A. Today, all of a sudden my TV screen went greenish and then the picture on my TV went out ( static looking screen ). The light that's on my Converter Box...

The DT250 likely has one or more bad 470uf 25v capacitors. You should replace all four. Look at some of these youtube videos for how do do the replacement.

Order 4 new 470uf 25v capacitors from digikey.com P/N P10274-ND

Use first class mail as your shipping method. Will be under 10 dollars total.

I HAVE LOST THE MANAUAL FOR MY PHILIPS MAGNAVOX UNIVERSAL REMOTE

You don't need the whole manual for the Philips Magnavox remote fortunately.

If you want to reprogram it for the Apex TV, follow my directions exactly.

  1. Hold down the Code Search button (on the remote) until the light on it turns red and stays red.
  2. Let go of the Code Search button.
  3. Make sure to switch modes at this point to which device you want to program, I'm going to assume TV Mode since your post says "Apex TV." If you need help with Apex DVD codes, I can answer that one too :)
  4. As you Press the mode button and release it, the light should blink for a bit, so keep your eye on it because after it's done blinking it'll stay red.
  5. At this point the remote want's you to press a sequence of numbers also known as Code[s] or Code Entries. Either way these are what are in a table inside the manual that you lost.
  6. I'm going to give you two codes in case one doesn't work: 044 and 335 (one of those hopefully will work)
  7. If the code worked you'll know right away because the light will get mad and start blinking again, otherwise if it DID work, it'll just turn off (the light will anyway).
  8. That's it, I reccomend you test out your remote with the TV now and make it everything works. If something doesn't, try the other code. If it still doesn't work right, I'll give you some more codes.
Hope that helped,
-Cheers-

Direct Philips Magnavox Universal Remote Code Entry PM335
1. Press and hold the Code Search button until the red
indicator stays on. Release the Code Search button.
2. Press and release the desired mode button (TV,
DVD, etc.).
The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
3. Enter the 3 digit code from the code tables. Note:
after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off.
For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
4. With your device on, press CHANNEL Up. If the
device responds, no further programming is
required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your
equipment, try one of the other codes for your
brand.
