Re: Error and no start
No you dont need to reset it, it may be that you forgot to install the sensor ribbon on the carring assembly, it senses where the carring sistem is in reference for printing. If you installed it it may be backwards and it is not sensing.

either your aga motor is bad or your board set is bad. Turn unit on watch the printhead while opening the cover. The printhead should move back and display "cover open". When you close cover the printhead should move closer to paper. If not bad aga motor or bad board set.
Reset the device when it does not respond.
If the device does not respond, disconnect and then reconnect the power cord.
At the device or at the electrical outlet, disconnect the power cord or adapter.
Wait approximately ten seconds and then reconnect the power cord.
Wait until the device has completed its cycling process before submitting another job request.
If this doesn't work try reseting
If all else fails I would suggest taking it to a qualified service center.
Hope this helps:)
that error happend because the last time the fixing assembly was rebuilt and or replaced the counter wasn't reset. what you need to do is go into service mode and clear the counter for the upper fixing roller and lower fixing roller.
to get into service mode you need to hit the additional functions key
the 2&8 at the same time
then the additional functions key again
this should get you in service mode even though there is an error code....if it doesn work the first time you try it shut the machine off and turn it back and try again. once into service mode
you need to hit the copier button....
then go across to the last tab .....counters...
click on it then click on drbl-1
then you will scroll down till you see
fx-up-rl click on it then hit the C button on the control panel where the numbers are and it should reset it back to 0
and then you need to click on
fx-lw-rl and do the same with it
fx-ex-rl and clear it as well
then you should be able to turn the machine on and off and it will come back to life
try to reset by programming...here u just do ..p * c * (p star c star ) u will go in simulation mode .then press 14 ,start .mechine will ask you yes or no ? u just press 1 for yes .and press start ...your mechine will work..if same problem prsist try to check fusing unit...dont forget to thanks to me
HDD is having issues. You can try formatting the HDD (make sure you
backup templates and address book if you use them.) To format HDD hold 0
and 8 while turning on the copier, when the machine comes ready key in
690 and hit start. It will then display "2 2", hit start again.
Wait for it to say please reboot the machine, turn it off and back on.
Hopefully this will work but if not, your HDD will need replacing.
Needs new manufactures toner fitted to machine to allow it to reset toner counter, after market toners a lot of time and sometime even the real ones, do not reset the counter they will trick the machine for a bit, untill the page count gets to a value preset to stop your machine from working unless the reset is activared.
.., if your real clever and like fiddly chalanges, one can get the reset device that is attached to the toner cartridge, pull it apart and place the reset lever back into new position, but it takes some doin to get it right, but it has been done;)
White lever in black semi circle shroud on toner cart, lever falls toward the machine after it has reseted. In new position it sits about 45 deg forward
Activating switch in machine permany dont work, can be removed and done via a flick of it, but best bet, buy gen toner or get good with fiddly springy bits;)
Power reset; press and hold the Power button until it the machine starts a diagnostic mode; if this doesn't turn on the machine, unplug it for 10 minutes and upon plugging it back in, see if the error reset itself
Unplug all USB devices (including the printer) and reboot the computer. Once the computer has rebooted, plug in the printer, allow it to install (it should install automatically) and see if the error is corrected. Sometimes there can be a temporary conflict and the only way to solve it is to remove all other USB devices (this can work for external hard drives too).
The overall issue with error code#5010 is a scanner malfuntion. If the problem returns, check the ribbon cable as it runs from your scanner to the main logic board. If all is secure and you still have the problem, the printer may need a new logic board.
