Re: No Picture, No Sound
It could have been a coincidence or maybe excess windex fell down in the push buttons assembly thru the botton edge of the frame creating a short and blowing a fuse ,if you are familiar with tv service checking the fuses will be a good place to start,if you find one and is black it means you have shorted component ahead,If you are not too familiar with tv service be safe and call for assistance from a servicer.Let Us know how it goes or if you need more information.

Most likely the high voltage transformer took a dive. If the picture was still good before it went out it is probably worth a check out fee. Another possibility is that there was a loose solder joint developing and moving the set around helped the loose joint come completely undone. Thanks
WOW never heard this one . You might check the volume down button on the tv to see if it is depressed in . What is the model # and do you clean the picture tube with windex ? Maybe some of it has seeped down onto the control board and has gummed up the volume down button. Good luck
if your could hear a slight ticking (tick-tick tick) or whining then some electronic component might have been damaged (shorted). if you have no experience repairing electronic equipments then i suggest you to send your TV to a service station!
It sounds like either Y-sus or the X-sus pcb. These are usually fixed at board level and can be quite expensive. If your in Australia Speedy Spares in Melbourne should be able to supply these Boards. They are located on the left and right hand side of the panel and will be connected to the panel through smaller sub PCB's. The x and y sus boards are about 30cm x 20cm in size.
