You can look a good computer accessories and repair shop that is likely to have your screen type available. You would have to be patient in looking for the right screen for your laptop.

You can also search Google to find out online computer accessories shops that have screen type.

may be this is you are mentioning there is no display in your monitor or u have already getting the boot display. if u getting the boot display it must be the problem of your monitor inverter board in side ur lcd. otherwise it must have your computer memory not working properly so u must clean and re install your memory first.thank you.

How to repair lcd monitor. hp1940. one hirozontal line( black) and one vertical line ( red ) crossing each other at lower left of the screen.

Hi,
At times, this might be because of a Video Driver issue also. So, to rectify it, One simple way, is to check it with another monitor if you have one. Connect the Tower(CPU) to the other monitor & check if the display is fine. If not, then its is a problem with the Video Driver & you r monitor is working fine. But if the display is fine on the other monitor, i'm afraid to say that your monitor might have gone bad. you can probably take it to a hardware repair shop nearby.
Hope this was helpful.
Cheers, Have a nice day!!

Linking hp pc (windows vista) with philips lcd via a hdmi and dvi cable. When computer turned on and tv uned into hdmi channel i can view windows loading but screen goes black when it has loaded and screen...

You need to set your system to output to the port the TV is on.
If it is a laptop, there is an F key to change from LCD to LCD+VIDEO to VIDEO.
If it is a desktop you need to go into your display settings (control panel or rt clk desktop/properties or whatever system you have).

Screen turns blank all of sudden and works normal after switching of the system for 1 hr or so.

You could have a defective screen - a defective inverter or a CCFL lamp.
To determine if you have a LCD screen or video card problem, read this and follow the instructions.

Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom:
  • Screen flashs on red/pink and off.
  • Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal.
  • Picture flickering with dim display or appear black.
  • Picture flickering on and off.
All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp

Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power it up, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

Does any body know of a guide detailing how to repair a cracked screen in an HP Pavilion TX2000? The screen itself is okay, but the outside plastic-type layer is cracked.

try this:

use gorilla glue and make sure you clamp pieces in place near crack after it dries scrap off expanded glue with your fingernail...

or try super glue but pen wipe off excess glue quickly and clamp near crack

Broken Elo Monitor Screen

Touch screens are even more expensive that straight LCD panels. This repair may cost more than the original monitor. Why do you need another panel? Is the panel cracked or is the touch screen portion not working correctly?
