3 long beeps

The beeps are a bios error code. Sounds to me like a power supply or motherboard got toasted. Refer to owners manual what the beeps mean.(how many, how far apart. Longs and short beeps etc are all codes)

Depending upon which BIOS chip is installed on your motherboard the POST beep codes indicates -
one long, two short beeps

• System board failure
• Video adapter problem
• LCD assembly failure

one beep, three short beeps
three short beeps, one beep

• Memory problem: bad DIMM or bad DIMM slot

its most likely the memory module (rams)

• open side of case
• remove rams, clean with issue
• replace and turn on machine.
• that should help. If not the memory module might need changing.
• before you go out and buy new ones,,

look for the battery on the main board,
remove it,,,(make sure machine is unplugged), remove the memory as well, press and hold power button a few seconds (20) replace rams and battery, plug in and try booting now..

If that fails,, replace the rams.,

If do not hear any beep then it means that the mother board is dead you can try clear the BIOS by removing the battery of the mother board for 5 mins or by shorting the jumper for clearing the BIOS if that didn't help then you have to repair the board or replace it.

3 short beeps means Base 64K RAM failure.

try to replace the RAM.

3 beeps means problem with the RAM. If u recently changed them, check whether they are clipped in their slots properly. If need be remove them, gently clean the contact points with a piece if clean paper & reinsert them in their slots carefully. I hope they are matching pairs with the same FSB..........sodeep

Check to be sure RAM is seated correboot up.ctly. If it is replace with known good RAM and re-try

Three possible:

1 does new battery test good?

2 is battery inserted properly (backwards)?

3 do U clean the battery holder with a pencil eraser?

I followed the suggestion of changing the BIOS configuration to the recovery mode, however one thing was missing - it required a startup disk and I didn't have one. I then changed the BIOS configuration to the config (pins 2 & 3) mode, booted up and went to the BIOS/CMOS setup and a new menu tab appeared called "maintenance". I went to the advance tab and selected USB configuration and, instead of a blank screen, there appeared a selection for USB support and it showed disabled. I changed the setting to enabled and three more lines of information regarding USB came up, but required not further changes. I went to F10 and saved and exited and I now have me USB capability back.

well its quite simple.you have set the wrong latency for rams.
I suggest you put a latency around 3
reset the bios and check the latencyes..you know that you must have all the rams from the computer to the same data..like all the timings or latency.
