check for a faulty gas regulator or low gas pressures
best have this done by an accredited gas fitter as they can diagnose the problem properly.

Just put in a new Caldera LPGas cooktop the flame is yellow and putting soot on pots how can I adjust air to correct this?

you stove may have jets for natural gas rather than bottled gas the calorific value of natural gas is different to propane and the jets are larger because of this. if using bottled gas then you will get yellow flame and soot because there is too much gas to burn properly check your installation manual for procedure to change the jets for each gas

What causes gas igniter to keep clicking when gas is off

Sounds like someone washed down theb cooktop. If the moisture traveled throughout the contacts, the clicking sound will continue while off, until things dry out. Unplug cord from wall, give it some hours, maybe even a day or so, for moisture to evaporate. This worked for me in past. Give it a try. Good luck

What causes gas igniter to keep clicking when gas is off

Just solved this on the Kenmore model 911.33389 (same unit). Ignitors started with no one touching the cooktop. It has had a history of doing this and, this time, sparks were visible under the knob. Disassembled cooktop (don't forget to unplug and shut off the gas!). Performed "smell test" for burned electronics. Found smell in #3 ignitor switch. Disassembled and found worn, burned, and fried. Parts list was inside unit but had a typo for the "ignitor switch". Showed WB18T10240. Ordered that only to discover it was the transformer to ignitor wire harness set (no photo on website!). Wrong part... ugh! Dug deeper for the correct part #. It was WB18T10239 but it has been replaced with WB18T10344. Noted on some website that someone installed one and then the ignitor was NOT synchronized. Turns out, you can install WB18T10344 about three different ways. Mine was 22 degrees off vertical (different than original) and now my unit works perfectly! Also, install the new switch harness (if that's what you do) starting from the left front valve then clockwise. The original unit installed from the right front valve, then clockwise. Hope this helps.

We havent purchaced this cooktop yet but are putting in electrical outlets do we need a 110 outlet for this model?

It would be a good idea to plan for an outlet for the cooktop. most do use 120 volts for the spark device. Locate it behind or below the cooktop so it will not be confused with your countertop outlets.

Thermador gas cooktop explosion

I would say that pop was one of you igniters.  either that or the stove is not installed correctly and when it gets warm, thermal expansion makes the metal pop.  I would say that I would use caution and discontinue its use.  Most problems with these need to fixed professionally.

Why do all 5 burners continue to spark with knobs off

One of 2 reasons - either you outlet is not properly grounded or there is a short in the range. This could be a shorted (bad) spark module, or one of the wires is shorted. All can be tested with a multimeter. Hope this helps!

Wolf range cooktop

I just installed a Wolf gas cooktop and had the same problem in that all 4 burners would light just fine but the electronic igniters would not stop clicking on all four. What I found was that the electrical outlet that my gas cooktop was plugged into had the polarity reversed. I tested the outlet with a polarity testing module (you can get one at Home Depot and it checks polarity, grounding, GFI and is handy to have around, small and inexpensive). I plugged it in and the lights told me that the polarity was reversed. I reversed the wires in the outlet (exchanged the white and black wires) put the cover back on, plugged in the cook top and now it works like a champ! no more constant clicking. By the way, we had a cooktop before this one with electronic ignition and never had a problem, apparently it didn't care about the polarity.
