Question about PC Laptops
I have a toshiba a40 laptop, and when ever i try to play a dvd movie, my computer does not do anything, i go to my computer and when i put my mouse over the combi drive it reads 0 bytes and cannot play the dvd, even though i have updated all my drivers?
I had a toshiba laptop that did the same thing.
How I solved it was to install a Free "media player" software that can play DVD's and anything else i give it. It used far less "battery power" than the Windvd ,Powerdvd that came preinstalled with the laptop.
All i did was to install the software and chose Open DVD from the menu. when installing the software you don't have to "assign" the VLC to play your say mp3's if you are happy with some other piece of software. so it can "live" on your laptop without "taking over" other Apps
another usefull pice of software are the codecs. as you have already installed a package (and it could be this one) I recomend you to unintall all your codecs and install this one.
I built many digital cinema units for indipendant cinemas so i know a fair bit about codecs and video's
Get the "full version" and then Install it (before VLC although it dosent matter which order)
When it installs you have to chose to turn off one settig.. Its the Wideos Media player "lite" as this will "take over" your other media players
leave the settings to defult and "turn off" Media player classic, and thats it.. It worked for over 100 cinemas aust wide.
any futher probs with this you only have to ask!!
