Help i turned my computer on and there is no start menu, no icons...only my backdrop. Help?

While attempting to connect to a lan connection, the computer automatically defaults to the work offline selection. Therefore, I am never able to connect to the internet. I tried turning off the work...


Hello brian _I_kilm, there are (4) four different ways to connect to the Internet.

1) To start, click on the "Start" button. paul7of9_20.jpg

In the (right "start menu" pane), select the Control Panel shortcut.

Once the next window open; scroll to find,paul7of9_21.jpg Network and Internet,

click on it to open. Next, select to open the "Internet Options." paul7of9_22.jpg

To setup the Internet Connection: Click on the "Connections" block, click the ("Setup") button,paul7of9_23.jpg and follow all the instruction carefully.

2) From the "Start Menu" in the (right) pane, if you have the "Connect To: Icon, click on the icon to open; "this will start the setup and connection process."

I can not use the internet on my toshiba lap top how do i fix this?

Can't get past black screen and mouse


Power off your computer, then power on hitting F12, del or whichever key it states to go into setup. From the setup menu, select change boot order or boot menu. Set the CD ROM to the first boot device. Save changes. Restart. Your computer should boot to cd starting the installation.

Start menu toolbar does not appear on desktop


check this out maybe it can help..

in the desktop..put the cursor and right click-properties-select desktop-customize desktop-check the desktop icons you want..and click ok...just try maybe this is only you want..

Taskbar and Desktop icons flash/flicker on and off and don't allow her to open the Start menu or click any of the icons


restart computer and keep tappig F8 when
select safe mode from advance menu
*select win xp os
*get into safe mode and check
if u dont have any issue
then click on start->run->msconfig
click on selective startup
uncheck load startup items
click applay
click close
reboot and chack
if same problem
reboot computerr in safe mode
create new user acount
