You will need convergence work to this unit. Not cheap.(Not recommended for DIY unless already experienced in this type work). Might contact a local servicer experienced with Toshiba & see if they can give you a quote over the phone. Be sure you are sitting.
This is probably a good time to consider entering the 21st century & look at LCD or LED flat screens.

Blue patch on right side of screen. strange dark pattern also.also has lots of yellow on the otherside of screen tv is about 5 years old.

If it looks like a cloud of colour, the optical block needs replacing. It is the heart of the LCD. We had ours replaced twice, under warranty.

Yellow and blue on the screen and corners are off center

Your TV may have a bad light engine. There are color LCDs in the engine that may have melted over time. The LCD chips would need to be replaced, or the whole engine would need to be replaced. There was a nation-wide repair for Sonys experiencing this problem, so check around with different TV repair shops in your area.

My television red colour is not sincronized with the other two colours. Adjustment makes no difference. The degree of error varies on the screen. Any help? reynier.vt@mweb.co.za

Hi, this will occur when your convergence board or chip is malfunctioning. This particular device(board) controls the collaboration procedure that regulates the RGB streams.

When the board or convergences chip becomes unstable, this will cause the issues you are experiencing at this time. Simply replacing the chip or the board will fix this issue.

Please rate and god bless:)

Hi! name's wesley. anyways, here's the problem. i just bought a new samsung 32' lcd tv and everything is great except for one thing: when i connect my ps2 to the "av 2" input, the sound comes out...

There is a problem with the AV2 input. Since this is a new set, return it for repair or exchange. DO NOT open it up as that would void the warranty.

the problem with LCD tvs are that they have back lamps that shine thru the LCD sceen. the job of the screen is to block the light of the different colors to make the picture. the problem is that the very thin screen can not block all the light. if the set has a back lamp setting turn down the back lamps and adjust the brightness control it should help a little. you my notice that the blacks and dark sceens look better when the room is fully lit and look much worse in a darken room.

Colour misalignment and focus

Inside of the tube assembly, there is a cooling liquid. This could be a job to change, and then re-adjust everything. It is also possible that on top of this, there are problems with the convergence and bias control circuits.

Typical repairs can run in the area of about $400 to about $800 depending on the amount of work and type of parts required.

Personaly, I would go out and get a good Plasma or LCD TV at this point!
