Question about Apple iBook G3 Clamshell (M2453B) Mac Notebook
Until now I was the only user in my computer and I didn't need to use any password, but I remember that I did store one for the admin when I installed windows XP. My roommate asked me to use my computer and after he messed up one of my files I decided to add another user and to block the access to some of the folders. Everything went great and I created the User, changed the folders setting and the way you login to my computer. When I did restart I have 2 users, but I forgot the admin password and I can't login with my user only the new user I created. I can't change anything because the new user have limited access. I can't believe I did something so stupid, please help I am desperate. i forget my administrator password for my apple mac G3

I assume you have data on the hard drive that you want to save. If so try to save your data to a CD or thumb drive if it will let you do this as User. It will depend on what permissions were assigned to that account. If not, hook the hard drive to another computer as a slave drive and see if you can get it that way. That said, this is the only way I know of to solve your problem. Take the battery out for an hour. Zap the PRAM as many times as you want to. Insert the OS disc in CDROM drive and re-boot holding down the "C" on keyboard. This should get you into the installer. It probably will only allow you to do a clean install without a password. This means everything on the disc will be erased. Hence the earlier back-up. Install the OS and you should be good to go. If this doesn't work the first time try again. They can be stubborn sometimes. Good Luck.

Take the start up disk for the computer and start from it, once the installer screen comes up hit continue and look in the menu items for a option to reset the password. Select it and then you will be able to change the password on all the users on the computer.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

To change the administrator password, you must know the current administrator password. If you're logged in as the administrator, open Account preferences and click the Change Password button.
If you don't remember the password and automatic login is turned off, you can reset the administrator password using the Mac OS X User Install disc.
IMPORTANT: Because a user with the Mac OS X install disc can gain unrestricted access to your computer, you should keep the disc in a safe place.
To reset the administrator password using the Mac OS X disc:
Be sure to change your login password in Keychain Access to match your new password.
