Question about Graco SnugRide 8605

1 Answer

Handle malfunction I recently had the handle on our car seat malfuntion, the red handle on the side that moves the position of the carry handle lost its ability to spring back when released. I took off the screw that holds the handle in place and I cannot figure out what I need to do to make it as it once was. In removing the handle, the other side of the carrier now has the same problem!

Re: Handle malfunction

Here is the link to the user manual if you need it; Page 44 details how to get these parts - it sounds like either a spring has broken, or more likely that a part of the plastic handle inside where the spring should rest has either snapped or you have the spring the wrong side of it. The drawings in the manual are unclear, perhaps you could post a photo and we may be able to help more :)

Hi, the handle of my maxi cosi cabriofix car seat is loose and moves backwards and forwards when in the upright locked (handle) position. Is this normal? I thought it probably shouldn't move? Thanks.

The handle should not move when locked. Contact the manufacturer and ask for help. I believe the Cabriofix is not a seat available in the USA, so you will need to locate the manufactuer in your country (UK?). Dorel Juvenile Group is the manufacturer in the USA,

Handle is stuck in the carry position--Can it be fixed?

These car seats seem to have a problem in the release mechanism that
lets the handle move. We have found that lifting the handle a bit as you press
the releases can help. Try pulling toward the front of the car seat, then pressing
the release buttons. If all else fails, call Baby Trend and complain. It just might
get you a replacement if you can prove it is a danger to the child in the seat.

Handle up or down?

The handle should be down. It is in the manual. You will have less room, but it is NOT supposed to be up.

My maxi cosi tobi seat wont recline

Yes it seems to be a design fault. Has happened twice on our Tobi seat.

To fix, lay the seat on its back.

Locate the 3 Torx head screws middle front and rear left and right. You'll need a Torx screwdriver or head of the correct size.

Undo the screws, then pop the four catches at each corner with a flat-head screwdriver and remove the base.

Look at the recline mechanism, you'll see large bar at the rear (both sides) which is meant to be there. At the front, on one side or the other, you'll see a smaller bar which is part of the hinge for the recline handle. It's slipped sideways and into one of the recline mechanism slots.

Jiggle the recline handle and push the hinge bar back into the centre. It might help to use gravity - lay the seat on its side with the blocking bar uppermost. I can't see a way to prevent this slipping out again over time.

Snap the base back on and replace the Torx screws.

How do i reattatch the sun canopy on the maxi cosi carbrio fix? mine didnt come with one so ive brought one just need to attatch it now x

hi maria10102..hope this helps..good luck!!!
The sun canopy is located in the rim of the shell.
• Place the carrying handle in the carrying position.
• Open the rim by pushing the button at the back under the rim and releasing it.
• The sun canopy is now visible in the opening
• Pull it out and place the ends of the sun canopy with the buttonholes over the hooks on the carrying
• When storing the sun canopy, make sure you place it in the rim carefully and close the rim properly
