Also, does Motorolla have a model that has this feature? Do they operate like a short range radio? or does the carrier network support the 2-way radio transciever feature?

One more question, do you have any idea if Network providers here in the Philippines carry these features?

Nextel uses WIDEN (network) for most two-way communication. Some, if not all, have DirecTalk. This is a feature which allows communication as a short range radio allowing everyone on your channel in the same mode to hear you.

Walkie talkies talk to each other. Try transmitting (talk to each other) so they receive a signal first. Do it in the same room. The try for range. It is not much. Even for a GMRS radio, these are low power and short range. Under 2 miles, must be able to "see" each other.

What does Mon mean on a walkie talkie?

"Mon" is short for "Monitor" and is usually a feature that allows you to momentarily break the squelch (signal filter) and hear anything being transmitted on that frequency. That includes static if there's no transmissions. It allows you to listen for a weak signal that can't break the squelch threshold you have set. Some radios allow you to lock it open by pressing and holding the MON button for a few seconds. Turn the feature off my doing the same thing.

Both walkie talkies are on the same channel, but will not transmit voice messages

Check your Code setting. Both the frequency and the code must be identical for the units to communicate. Shut off any special features and keep the radios at a simple setting until you get communications back.

Why doesn't my cobra walkie talkie won't work after 2 mile

If you are referring to FRS or GMRS type radios, 2 miles is just about the maximum distance you will get out of them on normal terrain. Many of these types of radios will advertise claims of 10-15 or more miles of coverage. This type of "theoretical" mileage rarely if ever occurs in typical conditions. Many factors such as trees, buildings, hills and other "line of sight" obstructions will greatly reduce the effective range.
