I have a Universal Remote but can't get the tv into Video Mode.
I got this tv from my brother and the antenna port in the back is broken so I was trying to hook my digital convertor box up through the video ports in the front. I have a universal remote and now I can't get my tv onto the video channel so I can use it. What can I do? Thanks !Kristen

It shouldn't make any difference what mode the TV is in when programming the remote control. After you replace the batteries, just reprogram the control with whatever code you used before. If you didn't make a note of the code, use the remote's code search feature. That only needs the TV to be on, so that it shuts off when you find the right code. Once the remote has the right code back in it, you'll be able to switch the TV out of video mode.
I called FUNAI CORPORATION Customer Service Tel :1-800-605-8453 http://www.funai-corp.com
I was told the only way to get it back to digital was to order a replacement remote. They told me there is no universal remote that will put the tv back to digital. If you want to order a new remote call the number above and choose option 4.
i just got mine to work i had the same problem, i bought a universal remote, make sure your dvd player or whatever his hooked in, and hit the input button on the remote, it worked for me. I couldnt get anywhere by looking through menu, but i just hit the input button and it magically appeard :)
Yippie, I figured out a solution that worked!!! I have a univeral remote from comcast, on that remote near the bottom left is a small button that says (input) tv/vcr, press that one time and whala!! the tv video screen was gone, I had to manually change the channel from the tv channel button on the unit. once I changed the channel to 3, my universal remote worked... the button is the second one from the bottom left... I was on hold with sanyo for a long time and just kept trying on my own, so good luck!!!!
Then the only way to reach your tv is through coaxial antenna port. So
you can buy an rf modulator ( very cheap) and connect your red yellow
and white cables (rca cables from a dvd, game console etc) to the modulator then connect the modulator to your antenna with a coax cable. This worked for me.
The only way your going to change the video mode is with the original remote. If you need another remote go to http://remotes.com or call 1800 remotes Theres a button on the upper left hand side of the remote called video mode. A universal most of the time will not work this function. You could ask around to your friends and buddies or relitives if anyone has a working Sanyo remote or go to a local retailer that sells Sanyo and see if he would let you borrow one for a little while so you can switch out of the video mode. Good Luck
