Is this on your personal home or an business network? What OS are you using? Web browser? Receiving a specific error message?
If on a business network, the services/sites may be blocked by the network administrator(s).
If using Vista, the latest version of Yahoo Messenger doesn't work.
If using Internet Explorer, try a different browser, I recommend Firefox, to determine if the problem is with the browser.

Dear Friend... Its not not problem in Yahoo Site.. Its problem in your Browser.. so Clean up the Whole Browser... Delete all cookies from your browser... or use the great software for cleaning. is CCLEANER.. just download and install it... its delete the all cookies which creates problems..
I've also encountered this issue, please try to clear cookies and cache then try to relaunch the Yahoo Messenger. If it still doesn't work please take note of the error message. Usually you'll get information of what the problem is though the error message.
