What power supply do you mean Sir/Ma'am.
is it the AVR (automatic voltar regulator)?
if its the AVR, just switch it on and check the output voltage with a multimeter (AC range 250)
you should see the voltage output nearly equal to your SERVICE AC voltage

Sony dsr 30 no power

Hi
This does sound as if the fault is on the power supply board it is possible one of two things 1 a capacitor that as dryied up or 2 a diode on the sec side of the chopper transformer that as gone short .
You will need a test meter to locate the faulty compoment . WARNING DO NOT ATTEMPT TO repair this board when connected to the mains try to find fault using resistant Test's. If in any dout about this please take your unit to a repair center.Hope this might help

TV had no picture first and then no sound. I have unpugged TV and still nothing happens. There is a blinking red light on that can be seen from rear of TV ( 1 blink on and off). Thanks for your help.

Good day!

Please follow this procedure to fix your problem:
  1. Open the cover of your TV.Remove all screws at the back.
  2. Next, power ON the TV and check the output voltage of power supply using voltmeter.
  3. It should have not less than 5vdc for system board,12vdc for sounds and 24vdc for inverter board. If the 3 supplies are got a voltage drop your power supply had problem. For example if you check the 5vdc then the reading is 4.50vdc only.
  4. If you have voltage drop, check some leak/bulge on top capacitor on power supply.replace it using soldering iron and soldering pump.
  5. When the power supply looks like OK,no voltage drop and no leak/bulge on top capacitor. The problem is your system board or main board. There's no easy remedy for that. You have to replace the whole system board.
A Power supply is like this..(It is not actually look like yours but it was just for your Idea)

It takes atleast 3 tries before the 37 in led turns on

A pleasant and good day!

The problem could be the power supply.
That problem is usually happen when the output voltage of the power supply got a voltage drop or fluctuation.

This is the procedure on how to fix that problem:
  1. Remove the back cover of your TV.
  2. Plug-in the power cord of your TV and power it ON to perform a voltage data or voltage check.
  3. Test the output voltage of the power supply.Use a multimeter (DC range) then check the 5vdc for the system and logic supply.
  4. If the 5vdc got a voltage drop when you power ON the TV.There's a leak or bulge on top capacitor on your power supply unit, replace it!

Um, regarding the projector power supply that went foo, yes there is a chance of fixing it, is it worth your time and money? Probably not. I would take it to a repair shop before ditching, but plan on purchasing a new unit. Replacing power supplies is possible, but on high-end electronics like projectors, I wouldn't personally reccommend it.
