Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone knows how to purposely give you Xbox box the red rings of death. You may ask why I want this. Well I bought my halo edition from GameStop about a year ago and now I’m getting the stupid e74 error or ill get lines and white dots everywhere (I thought these upgraded systems don’t fail as much!!). I’ve tried the towel trick even though you cannot over heat a halo edition and it actually worked! The reason I need to "force" a red ring of death error is I want to avoid paying the $100 repair fee. Thanks for the help
Unplug everything but the power and take the game out rap it in 4 towles for 30 min then plug it all in

SOURCE: xbox 360 halo edition (e74)
i know what you mean..i have had three RRODs so far and no one ever physically examined my console..all they asked on the phone was:
have u made any modifications?no
have u plugged the power directly in the socket and not a power strip?directly,no power strip
what is the light status on the power brick?green
what is the light status on the console?the RROD!
have u restarted and reinserted the cables blah blah?yes no use
be confident and answer!!i got mine within a 4-5 days,a delivery guy gave me a new one and took the old one(he probably had no clue what an xbox was!!,and this was all three times)
i am from India and actually was quite surprised that i got a new one three times!
and the surprise was a sorry note from microsoft and 30 days of xbox live gold!!
call them asap and get urs pronto..GOW2 is coming!!
regards!any help let me know..
