As indicated by an earlier participant on this page i read avout the DivX problem and remembered recently downloading and installing such. i went to uninstall from my "add/remove programs" and the problem was imidiately gone. Thanks community. lets continue working together.

I have a Magic Jack and it is plugged into my computer. I don't have to do anything to call a long distance call. Do you have the new one that does not need to be plugged into you computer? You do not need to have any other application running to use magic jack. I know you said something about outlook express and yahoo, but you do not need to have that open. All you need (if you are attached to a computer) is your computer running, magicjack running on your desktop, and an internet connection. I hope this helps you.
If you've already gone to magic jack's website and downloaded their updated software then you're looking at a jack reformat. I've had this problem several times with my magic jack and you'll find many different solutions that just don't seem to work and are all very involved. Warning: doing this will lose all your contacts which from my experience is the only way to go to get this problem fixed...and only temporarily mind you until the problem happens again. Keep your contacts elsewhere in the meantime. Go ahead and go to your "My Computer" from your start menu and then take a look at the drive letters that come up while you have the magic jack plugged in...if you try to open them you will notice that one of them will say that the drive needs to be formatted (magic jack creates 2 drive letters for the device) If you see that, go ahead an select yes to format it and doing a quick format with all the default selected options will do the trick. Once it's done formatting, Launch the phone application and you would get to the screen where it asks for your email and password and then you will be logged in. keep this solution in mind whenever it happens again~ Good luck. I assume you forgot the passcode to a voicemail box , not the pass code to the voice mail system. The easiest way to fix your problem is to enter voice mail programming(from a telephone) and delete the box and then create the same box again. That way the mailbox when created will come up with the system default pass code
Your telephone can be used on different Avaya phone systems and you can have different voice mail systems. They all program differently.
Someone should have administrative rights to the voice mail. They can delete voice mail boxes and create new ones or maybe just change the password. If you do not have a phone system administrator, you would need to determine what voice mail system and what phone system you have. All the manuals are available at www.avaya.com
Most likely you have a Partner ACS system but there are different versions. You could also use these phones on a Magix system and other Partner systems.
