Mother Board

if it has 2 video cards or had 2 might be disabled in bios. if not and it does not boot at all then it could be CPU Powersupply or RAM, i would start with removing RAM and see if it beeps if it does Power Supply migh be ok, put one stick of RAM back in snd see if it boots swap RAM Slots and stic around to make sure its not a RAM Problem. if still no video and just spinning fans its Trial anf error of the CPU and Power Supply i know it **** but if you have a PoSupply tester that would rule that out. if you are savy enough to remove CPU look for burnning and smell for Burn. Good Luck

I want you to try first swap the power supply box  of the PC if no change ?
go to the CPU socket remove the CPU check if any component is burnt that area if ok put a new CPU  then on it .
If still behaving the same ,then the mother board is bad get a new mother board

Good luck

My motherboard are defective beforing booting no display usually block out what do you think...

hello there,
are you sure it was mother board, have you tried to swicth on your computer without hardisk, floopy and cd-room,if not try on
disconnnect i.d.e cable of hardisk, floopy and cd room, from your
mother board be sure to switch off or unplug your computer before doing this, disconnect also vga cable from your video card, pull out video card and memory card, scrub by eraser head of pencil the sloted terminal both side of your video card and memory card, then put it back,if you have multiple memory card have it clean all,put back memory card one card only, just to know if your windows appear on start menu, put back vga cable, swtich it on again,if windows appear put back all devices, but if not isolate memory card, and try other video card if have one,if strill black out, well that the time,it was a mother board problem.rate my skill if your satisfied, thanks a lot

Is there a power switch on the back of the power supply which is not on? Make sure the power cord is good and plugged into a good power source. Do the fans run inside the system? Is the fan for the power supply working? If not the power supply could be bad. You can purchase a power supply tester to plug the mother board connector into to verify the operation for about $15.00. Do you see any lights on the mother board and the Hard Drive light flickering? If you do and your Key Board lights are on your video controller or monitor could be setup wrong or defective. If the power supply tests good then you need to test the memory and CPU. You could also carefully remove all boards except the video card, mother board and memory and see if it boots up.

THE SCREEN SMEARS NAD SHUTS DOWN

Hi eakesj:
A number of things here should be checked.
First shut down and remove all cards, and power connections to all the drives such as cdroms, hard drives.
The power supply should also be looked at and tested for correct voltages on each wire. This can be done with a voltage meter.
Turn on the power and see if you can get the machine to start to the bios screen. (this will work if you have a video processor on board, if you have a video card, you will need it to use the monitor).
If that will not work, then you have more problems than you thought at the beginning.
If the mother board will not work at this point, then you have problems with either the mother board or the cpu processor. There is a possibility that there are problems with the memory modules.
So, if you have only one memory module, then I would remove the memory, carefully clean the contacts, (a clean pencil eraser can work, if you are careful, and do not press very hard) and then plug the memory back in and try again. Also if you have extra modules of the same type, try one for testing.
If you are still having the same problems, then the mother board or the cpu is the problem. At this point you should consider if you want to continue and repair or buy another mother board of the same size. If you buy another kind of mother board, remember you will have to re-install your operating system over the original one to get the complete setup and the bios to work correctly with it. Many times this can be done, but you risk losing data (you will lose all data in MY DOCUMENTS), and may have to completely re-install the OS. You may want to install the drive in another computer as a slave and back up any data you want to save before you proceed.
If you decide to continue with your original mother board, and still have problems, then the cpu or the mother board is suspect. To test the cpu, either test your board with another cpu which is compatible, or check the mother board with another mother board of the same exact model.
Hope you find the problem.
