Question about TruTech PLV1615T 15 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

Having the same probem with my TV not turning on.

Thanks for the help on getting the capacitors and replacing them.
How do I take the back off the TV to check if they need to be replaced?
And what do I need to solder and unsolder them on and off?

The back will come off after you remove all of the black screws on the back.If I remember right, there are ten self tapping, and three machine type screws. You will have to lift the back, and slide it towards you to clear the inputs. Then you will have to unscrew the input bracket, and unscrew the power board. To remove the capacitors you will need a soldering iron, and some solder wick. The capacitors are removed from the backside. To replace them you will also need some solder. There should be either one,or two bad capacitors. If I have to guess,I would say two.I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please let me know.Thank You very much!

Note: This particular model also has one additional step to perform besides the capacitors to fix it properly. There is some loose solder on a few parts that you will need to redo. So if you get a kit from Tv Repair Kits send them a remider that you have the HP-T4254 model so that you need the info on the other step.
