I have a Kenmark 19LVD45D tv which suddenly stopped broadcasting sound. The screen displays the picture but there is no sound at all. We have tried muting and unmuting and restoring audio.

Check whether the audio is muted by accidental press at remote control button. Enter its sound menu, and check it. If muted, as you know there will be no audio output. If not muted, check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. The sound is no longer working

Increase the volume. Make sure that the sound is not muted. Make sure that the correct audio mode is selected. You can also try to power cycle the TV by turning the TV off and unplugging it for a minute, then plug it back in and restore system settings back to default. If the problem still persists, I would recommend bringing it back to the store to pursue repairs.

No audio on Sceptre TV

I think that you missed to check its speakers. Check it. If they are found OK, the audio output section circuit should be troubleshooted.

No audio

went into setup, tv and kept hitting the mute then unmute it finally took. Not sure what was wrong with it since I had already done that several times. The two audio outputs on the side of the tv do not work like it says in the manual for surround sound. Its definitely a cheap tv.

Unpredictable audio output for no apparent reason

That click sound when the tv turns off is normal, that is just the relay from the power supply shutting off.

When you turn the tv on, do you hear a faint “pop” noise from the speaker? If so, the problem is with the heat sink under the audio IC. Over time, the heat sink will lose its consistency and start to melt, thus shorting out the audio circuit. To fix, you’d need to clean off the melted residue on both sides of the audio IC as well as replacing the heat sink with a newly redesigned Sharp Heat Insulation Pad. It’s a pretty complicated fix, I suggest calling your local authorized sharp service center to fix this problem. The part is inexpensive, so you’re most likely looking at a labor charge (maybe around $200ish) for the repair if they are not marking up the price too much.
