Thankyou. I do have the problem solved for now. I found a section about solutions in your web page. Several readers had the same problem. I was about to use a hammer on it but some of your readers came up with idea to slap the camera a couple of times on both sides and by golly it opened up. I was taught to handle sensitive items like the camera with care and to avoid jaring the item, but, this time I was lucky. we will see.

Disc loading mechanism fault. Contact any service technician. The mechanism should be taken out from the set, for repair. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Cannot get tape to eject

It could be a couple of different issues. These things could help.
(1) Power OFF the camera, remove battery then replace the battery, power up the cam and try to eject tape again. Nothing? try...
(2) Gently press inward on the tape cover with both thumbs a few times. Then, while pressing gently inward with one hand, press the release/eject-tape function until you hear a click or release sound. Then, if it doesn't open automatically, gently "help" open the hatch.

If it remains stuck, after follwing these steps a few times it would be my guess that perhaps the camera has been dropped in a way that jammed the mechanism controlling the eject function.

TIPS that may prevent having eject problems: When loading tape, be sure to insert the tape correctly and slowly, makeing sure the tape is placed properly. Gently press on the specific location indicated to close the tape holder, and wait for the tape to "seat" properly before closing any other part of the tape cover or hatch mechanism. Taking a few extra seconds when loading the tape can save extended frustration later.

I will push the eject button , i will hear several clicking sounds and the panasonic will turn off and the tape will not eject.

There's only one way to tell what's wrong with and that's to take the top off and look inside. There are lots of things that can go wrong with the mechanism, such as plastic parts broken and tape entanglement. But looking inside is the only way to tell what's gone wrong. You can then give us a fixya more info so we can help you get it working again.

My sony Hadycam vision CCDTRV118 the tape is stuck inside camera and can't remove it

Hello. First, do not force anything!! Secondly, make sure the battery is properly charged. Next, in playback mode, try to rewind or fast forward the tape--this causes the recording, audio, etc. heads to retract away from the tape and *might* free it if that is the cause. When you open the outer cover to trigger tape eject, do you hear the tape mechanism motor running? If you don't hear anything or the mechanism is truly jammed, it will require a tech to remove the tape and repair/replace the insert/eject assembly. Send the unit directly to a repair facility unless the warranty is still in effect.---Hope I was of some help.---Rick

Tape doesn't eject all the time

This probably indicates a problem with the mechanicals. The tape carriage mechanism might be out of whack/bent/or broken. You might take the top cover off and see is the mechanism is sticking somewhere.

Unfortunately, modern VCRs (last 10+ years) are very cheaply made, and disposeable, unlike the machines of the '80s which were built like tanks in comparison. Thus, unless the problem is minor, repair is doubtful.

VCR tape won't eject

you should take the bottom off and you will see a gear with a belt around it try to turn it the same direction as when it is turned off, do not force it but it may need a little force to move the wheel.
