Question about Creative Labs Zen Digital Media Player

1 Answer

Blank-No Music Hello, I have a 32 gig Zen player that I loaded up with music, up to 29 gig. I was on my way to making a playlist when I noticed that a ton of files were missing. Artists that had up 70+ songs were only showing 1 or 2 in Creative media Explorer or WinAmp. However all the files were present & playable on the player itself I reformatted the player & started re-adding tracks but the moment I closed the windows & later attempted to add more the previously added files were not showing in the Creative explorer. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

I'm afraid I was not specific enough with my problem.
Whereas before all my tracks would be listed so that & may delete them or add to a playlist then we later discovered bit by bit a number a tracks to be missing each time we opened up the creative explorer window but the tracks would still be present & playable on the player itself.
I then reformatted the player & began adding tracks & after the downloading process all the tracks we added to the player would be visable in the explorer window. Upon shutting the window & safly removing my player from the computer then later coming back to add more tracks the explorer window would be blank but the previously added tracks would be present & playable on the player.
Curiosly I clicked on the Create Playlist button on the Creative Media Explorer main window & recieved this message.
Unable to read from or write to your player.

The player is tring to organize its self with craetive media software. So you have no control over that of how it organizes. But you may find the songs all scrambled into the same artist folders to which is how the player save memory.

personally i dont recomend zen that much because of its confusing software but then thats saying i dont like creative products but i do its there software that is confusing. the songs or whatever your tring to play seems to be a differnet formate than the player takes or else it would play. which means you need to figure out what when wrong when you tryed to add the song. And you should try to stick with the same formate like non protected acc file music it sounds really great on the zen. I know because if owned one. Also i would not use a playlist it already neatlys organizes the files together for a cd or seperate for a song. and the playlists are confusing for some people anyway.

In Windows Explorer, did you use FULL FORMAT as QUICK format is not suitable if you had a disk error?
You should also use FAT32 as the format as NTFS may not be supported by your player.

Hope it helps.

Download music.Drag it into Zen file but no go

open zen folder from my computer, Make sure file is put in MP3 file or DHCM file. Manually drag it to a specific file and not just drive alone. Make sure all your drivers are downloaded. You can also create a playlist in media player and sync device and add playlist to zen from media player

Need Creative Zen user manual. No longer on the website. I really just need to know how to create playlists if you can help me with that.

  • Creating playlists for Creative Zen MP3 player
  1. Step 1 Turn your Creative Zen MP3 Player on and add music to its hard drive if you haven't already. Without music on your player, you won’t be able to select tracks for a playlist.
  2. Step 2 Select "Music Library" from the Main Menu. The Main Menu should appear as the first menu when you turn your device on.
  3. Step 3 Select "Now Playing" from the options available, then press the Options button.
  4. Step 4 Select "Save as Playlist" from the list of options. This will save the tracks you have listed currently as a playlist that can be reloaded later.
  5. Step 5 To play a playlist back, go to the Main Menu, select the playlist and click

I dont know how to load music on my product. I am trying to load from lime wire.

The songs you downloaded from limewire should be in a folder somewhere. When you set up limewire you created a folder where your limewire mp3s would be saved You may have used the default folder. Just find that folder where your files are saved then connect your Mp3 player to your computer. Your computer should recognize it as a drive and Appear in "My Computer". Double click on the Mp3 player icon in My Computer. This will open up the player. Then with the player and the limewire folder open just drag the Mp3s onto your Player. I hope this has been helpful.

Creative Zen 4 gig doesn't start when I click on its icon

Have you tried removing the software or reinstalling it? Don't worry about the 3GB of music, you won't lose it UNLESS you reformat your Zen.

Downloading playlist from non-internet connected computer

Yes, but you also need to load the ZEN software onto her computer so that you can add music to the player. You can load the playlist several ways, using Yahoo music, Windows Media Player, or using the Zen Media Explorer.
