Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I have an HP3200 series all-in-one printer, and I am trying, unsucessfully, to print Avery Brand #3268 notecards on it, using my own photos. The Avery type is on my Scrapbooking program, but all I get when I try to print is a strip on the bottom of the notecards. Avery suggested I update my driver, and I did, but stil no luck, and now the printer choicesare even more confusint\g! I cannot for the life of me get the printer settings set to print them!

Thanks, Bob, but my printer is an Inkjet. I did contact HP and one of their techs emailed me 6 pages of possible solutions (none of which, I might add, are easy!)

The xmas market I need these for is in less than a week, so I may have to come up with another plan!!

    Again, thankyou

    Georgina

PS Anyone got any other ideas??

Today's printers are a lot smarter. I am guessing that you have a HP Laserjet 3200 All-in-One device.
If this is correct, the Avery Label #3268 is for Inkjet printers. If you are using the template from Avery and maybe their software, it maybe looking for an inkjet printer and therefore not sending the correct codes to the printer to print the notecards. (Looking for inkjet and finds a laserjet.)

I would I also recommend going to support.hp.com and look for and download the PCL-based printer driver for the HP Laserjet 3200 printer. If you can get the the HP PN (Part Number) and the HP SN (Serial Number), I can get more detailed information for you. Let me know what happens.

I do not agree with your 'Inappropriate' ranking. This was based on the fact that you did not provide some critical details until after I posted a reply. If I had known those facts about your problem originally, I would not have posted my 'generic' solution.

I do hope you were able to resolve the issue. If you did, would you reply back and explain the solution the you received?

    Thank you, Binary Bob

Normally support for printing Avery Labels is found within the application you are using to create the labels to be printed, i.e. in Microsoft Office Word or similar publishing programs. . . .Avery provide a Wizard extension to use in Microsoft Word to help you to produce and print on their labels. . . .See http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Templates-&-Software/Software/Avery-Wizard-for-Microsoft-Office.htm for further details and to download the Wizard. . . .Note: You need to allow Macros to execute within Microsoft Word in order to use the Avery Wizard.

I'm trying to print some photos on 4 x 6 paper. i selected notecard paper size, but the printer keeps printing the 4 x 6 photo on 8 1/2 x 11 paper.

Are you telling the printer to use the smaller paper?
If it has 2 sizes it will keep using the last size used unless you tell it to change.

Can't Print Notecards

I ran into this problem several times. The way I solved it was I drew an arrow on the side of the paper that faced in and up. When you look at the wrong placement, it will tell you which way to place the paper.

How do i print labels using epson r2400 photo printer?

If you are using the Avery template, make sure you change the page setup settings from Manual Front (default) to Default Tray (sheet). Then when it tries to fix the layout, select ignore (on Wrd 2007 anyway). Then select Photo / Glossy paper and hopefully away you go.

My canon MP830 produces a thin vertical black line on documents fed through the document feeder to be copied or faxed. This only happens using the document feeder.

The expert told me to run a porous piece of paper through the adf 10 to 15 times. I used a piece of Avery textured paper for notecards that I had. The problem was solved after about 5 runs through.

Label printing (stick on labels)

Very easy. Follow this link...
http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Templates-&-Software

you can download the free Avery software. Buy whichever labels you want. Then using this software you just put in the item # (the number on the pack of labels you buy) This software will work for any size label they make, and it will let you design & print them. I have the same printer & use the Avery Design Pro for labels.
If you find this helpful plz rate it 'fixya' for me. Thank you kindly.

Printing on 3x5 notecards.

Some printers have a slot in the exit tray to use for envelopes and cards, if yours does not it may not support printing of cards. Please provide the model number and/or check the HP website for information.

Photo printing

hi doug

I had to reread your first post the mention of what to do with all the photo paper. I see you mean that you don't use matte photo paper you use matte heavy weight paper. I guess I mean that as a question! That is the only thing that works for me with no smearing problems. I haven't found one that is thick enough for a good feel. I used an avery matte paper that has a coating for photo but it just feels very light. Doesn't smear and looks sharp but very light weight. What brand do you use ?

post in me back
oke, thanks
