SOURCE: "Dew" sitting on my Video Camera

Dew Formation
What is “dew formation”?
When cold water is poured into a glass,
dew drops form on the glass. This clinging
of water drops is called dew formation.
When dew forms in your camcorder.
Dew will gradually form on the head drum
of your camcorder and make the video
tape stick to the head. This causes
damage both to the head and the tape.
When dew forms, recording and playback
may not function properly.
Dew is likely to form in the following
circumstances:
—When moving the camcorder from a
cold place to a warm place.
—When placing the camcorder in a cold
room which is then heated rapidly.
—When moving the camcorder outdoors
from an air conditioned room or car.
—When placing the camcorder in the
direct path of air
blowing from an air
conditioner.
—When placing the
camcorder in a
humid room.
How to prevent trouble.
When using the camcorder in a place
where dew is likely to form, allow the
camcorder and the video tape to
acclimate to the surroundings for about
one hour.
For example, when bringing the
camcorder indoors after skiing, place it in
a plastic bag.
1Be sure to tightly seal the plastic bag
containing the camcorder.
2Remove the bag when the air temperature
inside it reaches the temperature
of the room.
“Dew” warning feature
If dew forms, the word “DEW” flashes on
the screen, and the power will automatically
turn off in approximately 10 seconds.
Plastic bag
1If “DEW” flashes, remove the cassette,
leave the cassette compartment open,
and wait for a few hours to allow the
camcorder to acclimate to the
surrounding temperature.
2To use the camcorder again, turn on the
power after waiting for a few hours. Be
sure that “DEW” has disappeared.
3Do not insert a cassette while “DEW” is
flashing; this may result in damage to
the tape.
4Since dew forms gradually, it may take
10 to 15 minutes before the dew
warning feature engages.

SOURCE: Sharp Viewcam VL-AH151U keeps saying "eject cassette"

Assuming the record tab is in the correct position, download the manual for the VL-AH150U, very close to the 151U.
Page 10 of the manual shows the normal reasons for the "eject cassette" message. If not, I would call Sharp support at
1-800-BE-SHARP (237-4277) for referral to a local repair center.
Let me know if this helps.

Yes, it seems a loose contact on the button's circuitry. The only way to repair this is to take it in for servicing, unless you're willing to live with it :)

Please try in this way.

Disconnect power.
Connect power back, and keep REPEATEDLY pressing the eject button while you connect. If still no ject press power on button while you keep hitting the ehect button. You need to press eject on the unit, do not use the remote.

If that does not work, then the unit must be taken apart.

Drawer on cd drive won't open model is gateway digital media center gm5260

There are a couple of possibilities here, first it could just be stuck. If you hit the eject button and light flashes, there may be a stuck factor here. Look for the very small hole on the door by the eject button and push an opened paperclip in the hole, this will trigger the manual eject mechanism. With the tray opened feel the way the tray moves along its geared slide. If it seems too tight or it sticks there maybe something mechanical that has happened to it. Try to close it again and try the eject button and see if it will cycle. Also try to right click on the drive itself (Open "My Computer" to view the drives) and click on "Eject" and see if it triggers the command.

2 cds in the cd/dvd slot

hello, is the drive now stuck won't eject with the button? if so try using paper clip in the tiny hole close to the eject button. take a paper clip and straighten it and then gently insert in tiny hole keeping straight and leveled, after is inserted in to drive about 3/4 of an inch you will feel little resistance and then gently press it to eject the drive manually.

I hope that what your question was, if not post back.

good luck

DVD Eject tray stuck

I took a stake knife from the kitchen and pried open the tray door as I hit the eject button this got it to open, I then cycled eject and close, eject close a few times and this did the trick, I even played a DVD and that worked fine also. I had the problem with the tray not opening, and the display would read OPEN when I hit eject and I could hear it trying to open. So I wanted to make sure the tray wasn't just stuck or wedged before I took the system apart and looked for sripped out plastic gears or the belt being broken. GoodLuck rayruiz10@yahoo.com

Gs36 tape door doesnt open

In case anybody read this....     I have a GS-36 that would not eject the tape. I removed all the screws from the bottom and pulled the bottom plate off. Then I fidgeted with the mechanism near the eject button towards the front of the camera.  In my case it had just become stuck and needed to be gently pried open.    Tested it a bunch of times with tape - seems to be o.k.!

Panasonic PV-GS150 wont eject

Defective mechanism, a stucked mechanism is present. camcorder are smart it can detects error and shuts down itself for safety. earlier models dominoes the defect if the user is not quick enough to react when something goes wrong with the camera. You need professional service to fix it.

Cassette stuck

I have the same problem eject cassette stuck on my brothers camera he gave it to me to bring home to try and fix for him how-ever not before his son tried to force it and damaged some of the casing that holds the cassette. I straighten it all out and then found that a very small spring at the back of the camera had come off which was stopping it from ejecting. Once I lifted this spring and hooked it back on that it now ejects no worries at all..
