Toshiba laptop problem

My toshiba Satellite A135-S2386 laptop is not turning on for last few days......i recently upgraded ram ...from 256 to 2G ....i used one 2G PC2-5300 module in the bottom slot..it was running just great after that.

i found out later that recommended memory for this laptop is PC2-4200 and its better to use a kit (1G each slot)

could it be the problem ????

i have tried all the tricks from here.....like removing battery ....holdind on/off switch for several seconds....etc etc...

thanks in advance

The right memory for your laptop is

256MB Memory (PC2-4200) KTT533D2/256, PA3389U-2M25 KTOS534

512MB Memory (PC2-4200) KTT533D2/512, PA3412U-1M51, PA3412U-2M51 KTOS535

1GB Memory (PC2-4200) KTT533D2/1G, PA3411U-2M1G KTOS536

Using the wrong memory can caused motherboard failure.

Try reinserting the old one memory module.
Be sure that the memory is placed in the right way

See if the memory that you bought is compatible with your laptop, may be is the same capacity but is not supported by your laptop

    Try booting only with battery.

Try booting only with power supply (with no battery)

Upgrading Ram on my Toshiba A135 S2386 Laptop, still under warrantly

Hi there. There are 2 locations on the border of the plastic cover, both on the same side. You need to use a small flat screwdriver or your nail, and lift the cover using those 2 spots. It will snap out of place ! If you hold the laptop upside down, the front of the laptop closest to you, the 2 places where u need to lift are on the right side. You need to lift on that side, and the plastic latches are on the left side only. Hope you see what i mean ! But basically, lift right side. Thanks ! cheebster.
