Question about Olympus Stylus 720 SW Digital Camera

Play & Menu buttons/display not working properly after water got in

We used this supposedly waterproof camera while in the pool, and it got a little wet (never submerged more than 1 foot). The camera wouldn't work after that, and it appeared that the battery just wasn't holding a charge. So I purchased a new battery, and now the camera appears to be working, but when I turn it on the display shows the Y/M/D display, and I can't access the Menu feature. In addition, it doesn't play back any pictures (basically the play button and Menu button both are not functional at this point). I've already contacted Olympus, but am still waiting to hear from them at this point. Help!!

I took mine surfing, and it leaked salt water (just a couple of drops) into the battery compartment. I rinsed the whole camera with fresh water, and the camera came back to life -- but had similar display issues.

I had the camera serviced at Best Buy, where I had purchased a 4yr maintenance contract. In addition to fixing the electronics, they replaced the door on the battery compartment with one that has a metal hinge instead of the original plastic. If you don't have a warranty, then getting a used replacement is by far the cheapest route.

My advice: buy another one on eBay or Craigs. I just got a second one two weeks ago for $70.00 and it is working perfectly. This is an awesome camera, and worth the hassle to repair or replace.

My polaroid iS2132 won't change settings when I turn the mode dial/Can't set the intelligent scene mode.

When you put the Mode dail to the SCN mode, It will enter the last used Scene mode. THEN press the MENU button to select other scene mode.
Don't turn any dail. Use the navigation controls left and right from the OK button, to move through the section. Press OK button to save and activate the selected scene mode.
Success

Waterproof camera seems to not be working since the pool.

The camera is supposed to be waterproof to 10 feet for about an hour if the camera has never been subjected to any bumps or rough treatment. Can you say you followed those guidelines?

Open the casing and mop dry the trapped water, allow atmospheric air to dry the component and couple it. It will start working after an hour.

Drowned waterproof camera !!??

I would take batteries out open camera the best you can and let it dry out for a week at least!! then replace battery and try again,Most times when it is fully dry the camera will start to work again! ! If that does not work I would contact the company! and even if the warranty is up they may still fix the problem for free or low cost!
