Just select one drive doing left click then after selected do a right click and select "Copy", then select the other drive doing left click then after selected do a right click and select "Paste"

No matter which method you use to transfer information from one disk to another or one computer to another, it is important to scan for viruses, adware, and spyware before moving your data in order to avoid accidentally transferring malicious content to your new disk or machine. After you transfer information to your new disk or computer, it’s a good idea to complete a second scan as an added precaution.

Is the D drive a CD or a partion on the C. If the D is a CD then you must burn the files to the D. If D is a partition on the hard drive just copy from C by right clicking on the file to copy and then right click on D and paste. The file will be copied to D.

Need to reset acer aspire 1200 desktop

The Aspire One is a netbook produced by Acer; it does not come equipped with a CD ROM drive, so a traditional hard drive reformat and Windows reinstallation is not possible without a peripheral storage device. An external USB CD or flash drive will suffice, however.Difficulty:Moderate

Instructions

    • 1 Plug in the external CD drive, then turn on your netbook and let it boot to your operating system.
    • 2 Open your web browser and go to the BootDisk website (see link in Resources). Download the Windows XP Fresh Install Bootable CD, then burn these files to a blank CD via your external CD drive.
    • 3 Ensure the files have burned to your bootable CD, then restart the netbook with the CD still in the drive.
    • 4 The netbook should boot to the CD upon the restart. Follow the instructions prompted for installation. Upon completion you will have a clean installation of Windows XP on your Acer Aspire One.

Memory to low on c drive message pops up even after I transferred most of my files to d drive

Are you referring to the virtual memory or just disk space? Assuming you are on Windows, even after transferring files, the space might not be enough. You can change the pagefile size (virtual memory) or just transfer enough files and even move your temp directory to D. That way the partition/drive with OS will have enough space. Now a days keep at least one gig free there. It usually starts complaining when it gets close to 500 MB.

Move data from Windows 95 to Windows 2000

Files are pretty easy to transfer, and there are a few ways to do it. You can some kind of removable storage device such as an external hard drive or a thumb drive. You can also set up a network between the computers, which can be done using the network setup wizard, which can be found in the control panel.

Transferring programs is the hard part. If you don't have very many programs, you might just want to reinstall them on the new computer if you have the installation discs or files. If you have a lot of programs with settings that you would like to keep, you may want to purchase a transferring program like PCmover, which will transfer files, programs, and settings between two computers.

Another option is to use a disk imaging program, which creates an exact copy of your entire hard drive which can be moved onto another computer. There are many programs you can use to do this, some of which cost money, whereas some can be downloaded for free. You can find a list of free programs here: http://www.thefreecountry.com/utilities/backupandimage.shtml

The disk imaging option is definitely more difficult than a straight transfer though, since it just copies them to a file rather than actually installing them on the new computer. This option is mainly useful if you want to keep programs that you do not have installation discs or files for.

My ACER Aspire 9301AWSMi has run out of space on its hard disk. When I checked, the ACER C drive is full, but the ACER D drive ir empty with 33 gb of free space but I don't know how to access it, as I...

you just right click on the d drive and select explore or double click it, there won't be anything in the drive apart from maybe a system back up file.

when in there make a new folder called programme files

If you have a lot of programmes installed on your c drive, then uninsatl them and reinstall again, but when the option comes up to install in a specific folder choose 'D' drive then choose programme files folder, the programme will then be installed there, but will still put an icon on your desktop as normal.

you can also transfer any video or music to the d drive, just make a folder in the d drive called music and video, select your music you wish to move select 'Cut' then open the folder on the 'D' drive and select paste.

Also run this free programme to clear your system up

Transfer memory from hard drive

Hey jockos,

If you're positive that it's only the motherboard on your first computer that's currently defective, you should have a number of options available to retrieve files from your hard drive.

Generally, the easiest way to do so is simply installing the hard drive into another computer. This should allow you to transfer files back and forth between the two installed drives freely, using a standard drag-and-drop method. Often step-by-step instructions on how to install a second hard drive can be found in your computer's owner's manual documentation, but may just as easily be found by looking for "how to install a second hard drive" using an online search engine.

Please keep in mind that once the hard drive has been installed onto another computer, it is strongly suggested that you only copy and transfer saved files such as word documents, spreadsheets, pictures and movies to the new drive. Transferring full programs and executable files manually may result in software conflicts/errors which may not be easily resolved.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron
