Question about West Bend 33600 Coffee Maker
Not much to tell you, other than we think it blew off when transporting the coffee urn from a fundraiser. We have searched high and low, but without any luck. Would like to just buy the top, rather than having to purchase a brand new coffee urn.
The black clip that you are talking about seems to be a type of "lock" that was commonly used to prevent the cord from being pulled from the appliance by accident. You will need this part to "lock" the cord into the new base. I would recommend that you try to break the old base from around the cord trying not to damage the clip. You'll then be able to insert the "old" clip into the matching slot in the new base. I believe that the part itself is called a "locking strain relief".

there are 3 or 4 componants inside that could cause the problem.
if you can use an ohm meter, check all of them for continuity.
perk control fuse, or keep warm fuse
all should read "short " or almost 0 ohms when the unit is unplugged '

If you go onto the Hamilton Beach website and look at products there is a tab for spare parts.
