APC Main , or "Apcmain.exe" is a type of spyware that has infected your computer. It goes by the name of SpywareStriker.

Luckily there is a program out there that will automatically scan and remove the threat for you. You can download that program here: Download

After doing that I would also recommend running your own spyware scan to verify your system is clean , I would recommend the program "AVG" for doing that....

This should get your system clean and running back in tip-top shape.

you simply cannot "uninstall" mountain lion just like that... You need to accept this like 20 times before it will be preformed. So I'm guessing you mean something else than "uninstalling" mountain lion?

Perhaps you have just changed a setting so the "gray start-up screen" is no longer visible. You can change this in your settings screen, at "users".

Contact microsoft and explain the situation. You will be probably told you are a victim of software piracy etc etc.
Which, from the way you describe thw white CD envelope is very likely.

Hard though it sounds, you might need to buy a new licence.

I get an error message regarding APC Main. It tells me I need to reinstall Performance Center.

Do you have any software installed from this company: http://www.ascentive.com/ ?
If so, remove it from your system, using add/remove programs. It is crapware. See this link. and this link.
Then I recommend you download an antimalware program for your system and scan it to check for other possible problems. Unfortunately, most of my recommendations won't work on your system. SAS is very highly regarded, even for newer systems, and available here. You could also try this or this. Both are excellent companies. I'm not sure the BOClean download will work for Win98 any longer, as they just recently discontinued it as a standalone app and you must now install internet security. If you do so, make sure to leave the AV portion turned off so it doesn't conflict with your current av.
Anyway, choose one and run a scan to check for other problems, and remove any that are found.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

I turn on my puter it goes to the user login and then logs off

Hi,

I've run into this problem too often lately. So far I haven't managed to find a decent fix for it :( I've ended up having to backup the computer's data, reinstall windows, and restore all the data.

From the times I've seen it you get to the login screen, click on your user, get the "Loading personal Settings", a quick flash of the desktop, then back to the login screen saying "saving personal settings". It would do this in both safe mode and normal mode, so I was never able to try turning off startup software or services.

Booting to the windows XP disc and running a check disc might help, but from my experience with the problem you will probably need to reinstall windows. Hopefully someone else has a better idea.

Best of luck :)

Monitor

Hi,

It would seem that you do not have a computer problem but rather a monitor problem. If you monitor displays a single line from left to right, then chances are that the vertical IC is defective and would require replacement. In some instances, the IC may not be defective but would require reheating the solder joints. In some other instances it may be the vertical capacitor and/or some other associated components.

Since this would require opening the monitor, familiarity with electronic components & circuitry, use of a DVM and/or a soldering iron, then perhaps your best bet would be to seek the services of a qualified monitor technician.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

good luck and kind regards.

I cannot down load from dics works 8.5

You want to unistall it, restart your PC then reinstall it again. If your using Norton or McAfee those could be causing the Problems. Many people have issues with Norton and McAfee....I try to stay far away from those software. You'll need to contact then for support. If not, the uninstall/reinstall should fix it.
