Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

After i've turned on my computer, and used it for about 5 to 10 minutes, the computer freezes and i have to turn the computer off. when my computer freezes my mouse usually does not freeze. sometimes i'll get a blue screan saying i have to shut down. over the last few months my computer has been doing this. sometimes it won't do it for a day, week or month and i will think i will have solved the problems, but it eventually always comes back.

You can start by uninstalling the program you installed before this started happening. You can also do system restore which you'll find in start>accessories>system tools.
If nogo, try disconnecting devices on the back of the computer except the keyboard, mouse, monitor and power. Turn the computer on without them. If the issue disappeared, reconnect what you unplugged one at a time until you find the culprit.

Advice for when my coputer screen freezes and the esc button doesn't help

Hi Donna,

if everyting is frozen and you cannot do anything with your computer, you can wait a couple minutes to see if it is only working on something in the background that is taking up all its resources... if it does not start responding by itself, and you do not want to wait anymore... push the PC's start button that you use to turn your computer on (not the windows start button) for 8 seconds and it should turn off. NOTE: any changes to data that was open and and not saved will be lost.

Hope that helps

After downloading a few games online, my computer been freezing up on me. It would freeze up 1 or 2 minute after i turn it on. I even tried to do a System Restore, but that would freeze up also. Even if...

Possibly a compatibility problem with software. Check your task manager for for new or unknown processes, and check your startup processes for such issues. Also scan your machine with an anti-virus and malware scanner.

Hope this helps, careful what you download, and always scan before opening.

Microsoft applications off computer, computer keeps freezing

Not sure what you are asking for.

Computer freezing can be caused by a number of things. Does freezing occur somewhat randomly? Or only when you use a certain application?

It takes @least 30 minutes to boot

It sounds like your computer is not recognising the hard drive. Go into the bios (keep pressing the delete key as your computer starts up ) and find 'hard drive auto select' and press enter to see if your computer can recognise the hard drive. Even if this works it sounds like your hard drive is on the way out.
1/ Make sure no floppy or CD in drives
2/ Check Hard Drive cable connections, both ends
3/ Go into BIOS and check drive is recognised in there
