Zoom 1079 modem works fine on its own, but internet drops out intermittently when I add my Netgear N-150 wireless router for use with Netflix... Rene.

If you're connecting the device you're watching netflix with wirelessly, check the strength of the signal your device is getting from the router, netflix needs a strong connection and the download speed you'll need for it is 1.5mbps or greater. If both your signal and download speed are fine try unplugging your Netgear and your Zoom from the power for about 5 min. to refresh your connection

I have the belkin router in my home and one of my laptops are not picking up the signal for the router

Probably the Router signal strength is low.
You need to open the EWS page ( Router configuration page ) and increase the signal strength to 11 ( it must be Auto or 1,2,3, etc )

EWS Page ( Router page ) can be opened using the Router IP Address which may be or if you know it. Open Internet Explorer and enter the ip address and hit enter ( without www or .com )

Under Wireless configuration or settings you will find the Channel Strength. You need to restart your Laptop to get connected again to the network after saving the settings are you will loose the internet connection.

How to connect two speedtouch modems wirelessly ?

  • Hi you need a wireless router to do this,
PICK A ROUTER - There are tons of wireless routers to choose from. Depending on how big your house or office you might have to purchase multiple routers. The current standard in wireless technology is known as Wireless G. It is rated at a maximum speed of 54Mbps with a radius range of approximately 75'. This is most suitable for small homes or offices. Other types include Wireless A, B, and N and all vary in bandwidth and range. Do some more research and find out what might be suitable for your needs.
  • Step 2PICK A WIRELESS NETWORK CARD - If you set up a wireless network make sure to get wireless networking cards for each desktop, otherwise there'll be no way for you to connect to the internet. Most laptops have wireless networking cards built in, check your laptops manual to make sure.

When I connect my wireless router to my computer the speedtouch cannot be detected by my computer therefore I have no internet on my computer but I have wireless on both laptops which are directed through...

you probably have the router set to static ip so first you have to assign your pc with an ip range of the router , then log in the router set to dynamic ip and make sure you connect cables as per router manual. if it does not work then disable firewall , enable upnp devices . After configuration of wireless router you can enable firewall again. If you are using vpn with speedtouch then you should configure speedtouch to store username and password to connect to isp

My internet goes down randomly. I don't know if it my modem or my provider. Any suggestions? I am using an Efficient Networks Speedstream 5100 modem and an D-Link WBR 1310 wireless router.

Are you using wired ports on the router or wireless?
If you are using wireless, do you have a cordless phone nearby and does the use of it coincide with the loss of internet? Have you tried switching to a wired connection for a short while to see if you are having the same problem? Could be intereference issues with your wireless signal. When you look at the available wireless networks, are there more than one? Could be that your PC/laptop is trying to connect to someone else's wireless if their signal strength is stronger.
If you are using a wired connection on the wireless router and still losing connectivity, try a network connection monitoring tool such as WhatsUpGold (free to try). Have it set up to monitor your PC's gateway address (which should be your wireless router) and some other internet site (Google, Yahoo, etc). If your router connection never drops, but the internet site does, good chance that it's your provider.
Make sure you have the latest drivers for your network device (wired or wireless) and the latest version of firmware for your D-Link. Buggy drivers and firmware can definitely cause flakiness.

Can't connect to internet through Netgear WRG into Speedtouch DSL

Here are some troubleshooting steps that I suggest you try:

    1. Check physical connections.

    a. Connect the modem to the Internet port of the router. The Internet “i” LED on the front of the router should light up.
    b. Connect the computer to one of the four LAN ports (i.e port 1, 2, 3 or 4) on the back of the router. The corresponding port light where you connected the computer should be lit up.

    2. Access the router's web-based utility.

    a. Please open any web browser like Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
    b. Connect to the router by typing or in the address field and click Enter or Return key.
    c. A window will prompt for a user name and password. By default, the user name is "admin" and the password is "password".

Note: If you were unable to access the router's web-based utility, you may reset the router to restore the settings to factory default.

    To reset the router:

    a. Please push the reset button at the back of the router and release after 30 seconds.
    b. Unplug the power adapter for 10 seconds and then plug it back in.

    3. Configure the router.

If your Internet Service Provider is using a DSL connection that does not require a login, please follow the steps below:

    b. Select Yes for Does Your Internet Connection Require A Login?.
    c. Select Other on the Internet Service Provider drop down box.
    d. Enter your ISP's username (username@ISPdomain) and password. Then, click on Apply.

    e. Leave the Passphrase field blank, select Key 1 and enter a 10-digit number.

    f. Click Apply button to save the changes.
    g. Go to Router Status under Maintenance tab and check if there is an IP address under Internet port. If it's, do a power cycle.

    5. Power cycle.
