When i turn on my surge projector and press the power button on it my CPU automatically turned on and it is telling me to run setup to reset time and date, i have recently read that this would have cause from the CMOS battery cause it might be going dead well i did change it in August of this year and now the battery is dead already. Now i know this can be cause from the battery was in the store too long but am not sure about that. I have asked my dad to buy the pack in the US cause i hate when something is not right with my pc cause its my life. Can u give me any advice are i should put the new one in first and if any problem i tell you. Thanks!
Not sure I understand your question. If you want to replace the CMOS battery, here is a link that shows location and procedure: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim3000/en/SM/parts.htm#wp1076111
You can also run diagnostics located on a Dell CD that you should have received with your computer. Look for one that has “Diagnostics and utilities” listed under the “Contents”. You will have to boot from that CD disk. To do this, power on your computer and tap the <F12> key to bring you to the “One time boot menu”. Insert the CD into the top CD/DVD drive and then select “Boot from CD/DVD” and hit <Enter> key. Select the “Run the 32 Bit Dell Diagnostics”.

Don't turn off the surge protector. The computer has a "standby" power supply which is always on when wall power is coming in, this is used instead of the battery to hold the CMOS data and power the calendar clock. When you turn off the power strip, the battery is used all the time, and it drains it pretty quickly (often in about six months or so). When you leave the standby supply on instead, the battery will last for two years or more.

SOURCE: Clear cmos Dell dimension 3000. It don't have pin or jumper
Open the case and locate the CMOS battery. Just nest to it should be a button or jumper. Press the button or remove the jumper, then start the machine.
If it's a jumper, turn the machine off once more and replace the jumper before continuing.
