You can resolve problems yourself by using the online troubleshooting guide at www.kodak.com/go/aiotroubleshooting. You can even order a new printhead using this tool. Worked like a charm for me!

Installing the print head is really easy. Actually, it just snaps out and the new one snaps in. The key is where you press on the print head to do this. If you go to the following URL you will see how to accomplish this. Go to:
This shows you how to change the print head in a 5300 model. It is similar to the others as well.
If this does not work for you. contact the 800 421 6699 number and ask them to walk you through installing the print head. It will only take a couple of minutes.

on this website:
You can find illustrated instructions on how to remove the old printhead, as well as on how to put the new printhead back in place.
You can easily go to that website by going to:

Good on you for trying all of the above, if your printer has a print head problem you can find out easily by going into your printer toolbox.
Double click the HP Digital Imaging Monitor on the taskbar to the left of the clock.
when it opens click Settings=>Printer Settings=>Printer Toolbox
Ink levels will be displayed there, If the Black ink is showing empty the sensor for that cartridge must be dead(three strikes), Call HP and request a warranty replacement, or, take it back to staples as they generally handle 1 year in the store.
If the black in is showing here then the sensor is good, click the Information tab at the top of this window, then click Printhead Health. If the Black/Yellow is yellow or red Call HP and they should issue you a new one under warranty. If it is green this is not the problem.
Continue by closing that window, then Clicking Settings=>Printer Settings=>Printer Settings
Click on the Colour tab then switch the printer to greyscale and try printing again.
If this doesn't clear the head it may simply be caked or have an airlock.
To ensure it isn't caked simply soak the head in rubbing alcohol 2-3mm deep on the head for an hour or so, then replace it and try again.
Unfortunately if none of these work you may be stuck dealing with HP for a warranty exchange, www.hp.com click support then click chat with an online support technician.
or talk to your staples rep about having it replaced through the instore warranty if you have instore coverage.
Hope this helps FixYa,
