Wiring diagram for maxim rice cooker

The Hamilton Beach has options for white rice, "whole grain" (which means any non-white rice), simmer, and a "quick rice" function (which eliminates the soak that happens during the standard cooking time). These are all nice options, and they all work well. If you're somebody who makes rice regularly, or needs to feed a hungry family every night, this guy is the way to go. At $50, it's the rice cooker I'd recommend to anyone regardless of their cooking aptitude or rice-consumption goals. And despite its cavernous bowl, it was surprisingly easy to find someplace to store it-even in my tiny kitchen. On the high end of the spectrum, I tested Zojirushi's newest model: the Induction Heating Pressure Rice Cooker. This Ferrari of rice makers costs a shocking $500, though that price can vary depending on the size you select and where you buy it. The company claims that pressurizing the rice and cooking it for longer makes it easier to digest and, thus, healthier for you in the long run. I have no idea if that's true, but it sure sounds good. They also put platinum in the non-stick coating, which they say causes the cooking water to become alkaline, breaking down proteins on the rice's surface and allowing the water to penetrate more easily. And the whole thing uses induction heating, which lets the unit control the cooking temperature more precisely.
The Zojirushi is, by far, the most complicated rice cooker I have ever used. I've been playing with it for months and I haven't yet fully mastered it. But I will say that it makes the best brown rice I've ever had outside of a professional kitchen. As for whether or not the pressure makes the rice better, it's hard to say. White rice tastes basically the same in all of these machines.
There's one thing for sure, though: pressurizing does make everything take longer. Even simple white rice on the quick cook setting takes almost an hour-more than twice as long as the cheaper ones. Depending on which setting you chose, it can take two hours to make a few cups of rice. It's hard to recommend this to anybody who isn't either rich or completely obsessed with mastering rice. If you eat tons of rice and have deep pockets, then it's certainly worthy of a splurge. Once you use it, you'll never look at a bowl of cooked rice in the same way.

Rice cooking

This morning I have encountered a great many questions on rice cookers, so I remembered the time when I had one and why I started cooking rice again.
The rice was beautifully cooked in the cooker, but it took up too much space on my kitchen bench. So I turned to pots and the micro.
Cooking rice in a microwave
  • take 1cup water
  • 2 cups rice
  • a pinch of salt
  • put the water, salt and rice together in a bowl with a lid
  • blend well
  • put the lid on the bowl
  • put the bowl into the micro
  • on the micro, keep full force and set the timer on five minutes
  • start the cooking
  • after five minutes open the micro, open the bowl and stir the rice with a fork.put the lid on again keep the micro going for another 10 minutes.
  • repeat the stirring prosess, until the rice is nice and fluffy andready to serve.
Cooking rice in a pot with a lid.
  • take 1cup water
  • 2cups of rice
  • pinch of salt
  • put the ingridience in a pot, and an oven safe pan
  • in the pot, now with a tight lid. Put on a cooker on highest temperature for five minutes.
  • open the pot, stir the rice with a fork.
  • lower heat and cook for another 15-20 minutes,, stirring occasionally.
  • the rice is cooked when fluffy.
Cooking rice in a pan in the oven
  • Put the temperature in the oven on 150 degrees Celsius
  • put the ingridience as in the recipe above in a pot and start boiling
  • remove from pot into a ovesafe bowl or pan
  • Cover bowl/pan and cook further for another. 20 minutes.

Lost direction on how to use my rice cooker and havn't used it in a while

To cook rice, fill center basin of base with water. Place the rice bowl on basin. Add rice and water as follows. For white rice add water in a 1:1 ratio to rice plus 1/2 cup. For brown rice add water in a 1:1 ratio to rice plus 3/4 cup. Examples: 1 cup white rice, 1-1/2 cup water; 2 cups brown rice, 2-3/4 cups water. Put lid on and plug in and in about 50 minutes you should have delicious rice.

I lost the measuring cup. Can I use a regular measuring cup? If so, what amount would I use? For 1 cup, 2 cups,or 3 cups? I'm sure there is a solution. Thanks.

1 cup of rice in the rival cup does NOT equal 1 cup of rice in a regular measuring cup. I lost mine too and I've found that using 3/4 cup of a regular measuring cup works with the lines on the inside of the pot

Cooking Rice

Ironically, I came to this site with the same questin you posted. I just found my manual. This is how tha manual tells you to steam rice:

Place one of the steamer baskets on the steamer base.

Place 1 cup of rice and 10 ozs of water in the rice bowl.

Place the rice bowl on the steamer basket and cover the steamer.

Set timer for approximately 32 minutes, depending on your taste.

Good luck!
