How do I get into safemode on my acer aspire desktop

1 Restart the Acer Aspire netbook by pressing the "power" button on the netbook's keyboard or by pressing the "CTRL," "ALT" and "DEL" keys at the same time. 2 During startup, hold down the "F8" function key immediately when you see the "Acer" splash screen and the option for entering "Setup." 3 Keep pressing the "F8" key until the "Advanced Boot Options" menu appears. If you receive a "keyboard error," restart the Acer Aspire and repeat step 2. 4 Use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Safe Mode" selection on the "Advanced Boot Options" menu. The arrow keys are located on the right-hand side of the Acer Aspire keyboard. 5 Press the "Enter" key to execute the "Safe Mode" selection. The Windows operating system will now start in "Safe Mode" and you can perform a system restore or make needed changes to get your Acer Aspire to boot normally again. Trying to reinstall windows XP on Dell Dimension 8300....cant' start up using the CD drive...

Inpect the computers preexisting operating systems to ascertain compartibility to windows XP. Only XP computers would recognise XP operatign systems. Attemptign to install windows XP onto alternate system either windows 98, 2000, mellanuim or Vista XP or 7 is least achieveable unless the old system were erased or new empty storage disk drive were acquired and replaced.

I want to downgrade ACER ASPIRE M5641 desktop form vista to XP. What steps to follow? Also I have only the backup CD which I made right after the purchase , originally installed with VISTA. Understand it...

You'll have to purchase the XP software, set your computer to boot from cd (in the cmos settings), put the disk in the cd and restart you computer. When the screen comes up to "...hit any key to boot from cd" hit any key. The system will boot to the XP cd and will allow you to delete the old partition, reformat your drive, and install XP. Next go to www.acer.com and download your drivers. Finally install your programs and data on to your hard drive. Have fun!

NOTE: Make absolutely sure that you backup the programs and data that you want to keep before starting the XP install!

Acer Aspire t160 issues

ok heres how you remove bios password.

Open the door where the RAM is fitted and remove RAM from the holders. Look for two metal bars (GOLD?) near or between the RAM sockets.
Take a papare clip and short the bars out against each other. Replace the ram close the trap and reboot. That should do it

No operating system

Should be one of two things.
First: Make sure you remove the disk as Windows restarts as it may be on a continuous cycle even after Windows is done loading.
Second: You should check your hard disk for errors and have it repair any bad sectors. This is done by: Booting from XP and choose the Recovery console Once your in DOS (black screen
with a flashing cursor) type in the following commands exactly
" chkdsk /r "(this will check you hard disk for errors, it will take a
while depending on size of your hard disk). Then continue any additional disk repair options. If this all fails then the problem is with a bad hard drive and has to be replaced.
