Question about Gateway GT4016 Desktop PC
I have the same problems like the other individuals. I have an Extended Warrantee package and the techician came over and replaced the MB. It worked for one week. He came back again and replaced the MB, Power Supply, and Processor, it lasted about three weeks. He told me that it is an Electrical problem in my outlet? I don't think so...he told me if it does not work again, he will have to deny my request because it is an electrical problem and the company will not service my computer. Any suggestions like the 10 other individuals that are having the same issues?
With that many people all having the same systems and basically the same problems I would say start copying those posts and save them in an eMail or even print them out and keep them handy. Definitely get on the phone and start talking to the manufacturer about what has occured and what you have found out from others and find out what your options are from their Point of View. Don't be hostile on the phone, and patience and persistence are going to make or break that part of it. Do the same thing with the company you bought it from. Go above the Techie and see what he says. Even if they try to convince you that you have no case don't believe it. You do have rights and can always take them to court for selling you a lemon but that is a rather short term thing. File the case right now if you intend to do it. Get your money back while you can still buy something else comparable.
And call an attorney to see where you stand with the warranty! A 5 minute phone call won't cost you a thing!

It could be an electrical problem, but maybe not from your house. power companies sometimes have power surges that can fry a computer. if you go to any walmart and buy a surge protector, it should cure your problem, please note that there is a surge protector that offers a $10000 guarantee, so should you computer fry again turn that into that company that made it and get a new computer.
