Powering off My laptop powers off several times a day. Even when it is plugged in I hear a beeping noise that seems as though it's coming from the AC adaptor.

can you check if theres lint/dust on the heatsink of the laptop (a piece made of metal-fins that should have some kind of breather holes behind/under/on the side of your laptop?

If thats full of lint or dust, it may create heat on your processor enough to make it shutdown (as a fail-safe measure and avoid processor burn-out), you may clean it using a vacuum cleaner

Actually, if it is beeping as though the battery is low even while it is plugged in, it is because the battery is no longer any good and is sucking all the power from the wall. You need to purchase a new battery. Until you get a new battery, you can simply remove the battery and use the laptop plugged in. That will stop it from turning off. Been there - done that. Hope that helps! ; )

Hi
try removing you battery and powering it up....
it could be your charger, even if the power led is on there still could be a voltage failure...i,ve sorted a few laptops like that before.....
Or it could be the charging port connected to the motherboard??
Try to gently wiggle the adapter going into the charging port and powering it on...to see if that makes a diffence....

Hope this helps...if so please take the time to rate it,as i,ve taken the time to answer you...if i can be anymore help...

I have a Dell 1525 laptop and when powering up, nothing comes up on the screen but the power light comes on. One time it made a loud beeping nosie.

It depends on the beeping noise you hear. If it beeps short but continuouse then it is probably power problem possibly the battery. You can use a guide to the beeps to determine what exaclty is causing the probpem it might well be the hard drive is gone.

HP Pavilion Laptop zv5000 wont power on. NOT power cord problem.

I think your motherboard has gone bad, even though you hear a fan working, its just on a hot wire on the motherboard.

No juice

Sounds like a battery issue. Try powering up without the battery, just AC. If it powers properly, then the battery needs replaced. If it doesn't then it may be the power supply malfunctioning, or the motherboard.
