Question about Leica D-lux 3 Digital Camera

Lens is stuck out, in telescopic mode

Lens won't retract back into the camera when I turn my camera off...OR when the camera is turned back on.  I can hear the camera "try" to move the lens, but it seems to be stuck

Tired the hard reset you advised...but no luck.
    Lens is still stuck "out".

There's a possibility that some dirt are causing this to your camera's lens and the best way to resolve this is to take the lens apart and cleant but be very careful in doing that , and hopefully after cleaning everything will be working fine but if still the same problem there's a possibility that the lens itself is already bad....

Use canned air around the lens area - even a small dirt will jam it since the clearance is very thin.

Hi, since your camera lens is stuck / damaged. it will need to be taken apart and put back together possibly some parts might need to be replaced if damaged.
Your best bet is to contact your dealer if under warranty, if they charge you for the repair. Don't accept it a first sight.
Check www.advancecamera.com/repair and get a free repair estimate and see what is cheaper, ofcourse your dealer / camera maker might repair it for free incase its under warranty but I can't be sure of that.
Thanks, Let me know if you need anything else. Ekse

You can try by push / pull lens gently while turning power ON of camera.
If this doesn't work camera needs Lens Assembly replacement and it would cost you more them camera worth. So option is to buy new camera.
Good Luck.

    Ok try this!!

A stuck automatic lens cover is a fairly common
problem, but it is normally easy to fix. A single grain of sand jamming
the cover mechanism is normally the culprit, and you want to try to
dislodge it: 1) Try blowing lots of compressed air around the lens
cover to clean the mechanism. Or use a hair dryer for a few seconds
(don't want to heat up the camera). Use no heat mode if possible. 2)
Slide a thin strip of paper between the lens cover shutters and the
outer support ring. Work it around 360 degres to clear out any debris
that may be in there. 3) With the lens barrel extended and pointed
downward, tap the lens barrel with a pencil while you extend and
retract the lens by powering the camera on and off. Repeat the above
three steps several times. If repeated tries don't work (keeping in
mind that it usually does), it then may be necessary to open the lens
barrel to access the lens cover mechanism.

    The
lens cover mechanism is usually accessible for many cameras without
needing to open up the camera case. Before starting, a reminder that I
hold no responsibility should you damage your camera or worse. These
repairs are intended as last resorts on expired warranty cameras that
    would otherwise be tossed.

Kodak easyshare c1530 won't turn on after slighty dropped

Hello Doris, You can "GENTLY" try to push the lens slowly back into the camera with the palm of your hand, note I said gently and slowly, do not use force !!! Then turn on camera and see if this helped, if not it is repair time.

Hi I slipped in the garage and dropped the camera when it was on==batteries came out and lens of course didn't fully retract. Put batteries back in and the green light comes on and beeps but won't...

Sorry about your moms camera Terry... but it sounds like it needs the lens replaced. If the lens is stuck out at an angle you can *SNAP* the inner lens section back into place if you're lucky, and it will work again like normal.

I don't know your model, but a refurb lens can usually be installed for about $75 including return shipping. You should check the replacement cost of a used camera and see which is cheaper in the long run.

Hope this helps!

Polaroid i735 Camera won't turn on. Lens stuck.

I had the same problem, and fixed it by wiggling the lens a little, when turning it on.
After a few tries, it finally wiggled free, and the lens retracted.

Kodak Z700

Hi,

Tentative solution:
I had the identical problem. I went as far as disassembling the camera ... not recommended.

Instead of fussing with the lens cover, I pressed on the lens assembly (gently), the lens retracted and the lens cover closed.

My camera works now. It will be my last Kodak.

Good Luck,
Mike

Lens is stuck out

It sound like a problem with the zooming mechanism (lens would not retract or extended) Press the power button on and hold it down while extending and twisting the telescopic zoom lens. It might fix your problem. In any case it could not make it worse Good luck!
