Is this seat FAA Approved!?! Help!

I'm having ahorrible time finding out if this carseat is FAA Approved for a flight. I looked for a sticker ont he seat, couldn't see anything and I have NO clue where our users manual is. I have a few weeks until I make a cross country trip with my 3 year old and I am praying I don't have to buy another carseat. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!!

Re: Is this seat FAA Approved!?! Help!

As far as I know this seat is approved by the FAA so you can go on your trip with this car seat and feel safe. If you want to be sure I suggest you drop a visit to the manufacturer site.

Has my baby car seat expired

On the carseat shell you'll find an orange and white sticker which shows manufacture date. It is recommended that carseats with integral harness are replaced once they reach 5-6 years old.

Find manufacture date

Manufacturing date is found on the orange and white label on the carseat shell / underside of the carseat base if applicable. The attached image shows how to read the information found on this sticker. 2b4a3941-4636-43d9-ad0f-e6cf27e43762.jpg

Hi John

On a carseat the date of manufacture can be found on the safety standard sticker. It depends what country you're in as to what that will look like. Please advise which country you're in so that we can best help.

Hi Tamara,
We'd have to advise you to contact Dorel USA for further assistance. You can e-mail direct to

On the back of the carseat shell you will find an orange and white sticker. Take a photo of this sticker and attach it to the e-mail as it will help the customer care advisors to determine which carseat model you have.

On the side of the carseat there will be a sticker showing the routing of the seatbelt. However, if you visit this link:

You will find a manual showing how to install it.

I hope this helps.

You can get a new manual free of charge from the manufacturer, Dorel Juvenile Group, at or by calling their toll-free number (1-800-219-0509). You will need the model number and the date of manufacture, both of which are located on a sticker on the side of the carseat. You may also want to check out, as some of the AOE's have been recalled for problems with the harness. It's no big deal; if your seat is one of the recalled ones, just mention it when ordering your manual and they will send you a repair kit for free.

Another option is to check with your local police department and/or County Health Department to see if there is a Certified Carseat Safety Technician available to help you. They are trained in the proper installation of carseats and will show you how to install yours correctly, for free. You should probably do this anyway, as about 98% of all child safety seats are installed incorrectly (even when parents have followed the directions in the manual). Good luck!
