Motorola IHF1000 bluetooth

Worked fine for over a year. Had some work done on the car and since then I can hear callers when I answer or make a call, but they cannot hear me. What can I check?

Thanks for trying to help. I finally found out that the when the car was worked on, they must have crimped the speaker cord almost in half- making it un-useable. I had to replace the bluetooth unit entirely!

For a Motorola IHF1000, the microphone connection is a 2pin black connector that connects inline to the power harness from the IHF1000 (Electronic Control Unit) ECU. See if that connection is loose. Also, if anything parts were removed on the path from the microphone to the Motorola IHF1000 ECU, the microphone wire may have been damaged.

Hey mawcab,

Based on the information provided it sounds like your microphone is not working. There a possibility it could simply be unplugged from the car kit control module. It will look like a head phone plug. If your car kit is aftermarket it was probably installed under the steering column. Check for a black box with an unplugged wire.

What type of work was done on the car?

Hope this helps!

Can't answer calls using IHF1000 when paired with my iPhone. Green button just hangs phone up..

Press the big blue button in the middle. It will take the call but you have to wait a couple of seconds. Don't answer the call with the phone though as it will not transfer to bluetooth (it's a sort of privacy option)

You going to need to check with RIM the manufacture of the blacberry there are certain devices that do not work well with the unit and this maybe one of them.

Pairing an "universal" bluetooth to the samsung behold

Do you still have the user manuals for both the phone and the IHF1000? Start by reading the bluetooth pairing sections in both manuals and trying what is listed. If you have already done this, then please detail where you are having difficulty in the pairing process.

When using the IHF1000 with your Blackberry Curve, I recommend to go into the device properties for the IHF1000 in the phone's Bluetooth devices listing. Under that, there should be a phone setting to turn Echo Canceller: On, Off, or Automatic. By default, it is Automatic. For this phone with the IHF1000, I would set it to Off. This has solved audio quality problems for a number of people.

Note: this may or may not directly address the low uplink audio level you are experiencing, but it does seem to help with general call audio quality when connected to the IHF1000.

You need to pair the carkit with your phone. Make sure the Bluetooth feature on your phone is set On, then follow the Pairing process outlined in the user manual.

Code for bluetooth car kit

Also note that some of the IHF1000 carkits may also use 1234 for the passcode. When you go into the Setup Menu and ask it to Pair a Phone, the prompt will tell you the correct passcode (0000 or 1234) to enter by saying, "Enter xxxx, when requested".
