Question about Watches

10 Answers

I replaced the battery in a BV watch/heart rate monitor and can't get the watch to start running. Is there a combination of buttons to push to do this or a terminal on the inside to ground to start the watch running again? Thanks. John Brennand

The brand of this watch is MIO

There is no model number on the back of the watch. There is only "www.gophysical.com" (which doesn't exist), "C E Mio by Physical" and "BV"

    None of Jazzyboy11 suggestions worked.

This watch has 6 buttons, 4 on the side and 2 on the top. I held the side buttons with my fingers while pressing the top buttons against the side of a desk to press all of them simultaneously. That didn't word. Pressing the Mode button separately did nothing either.

Yes, the battery is new. I had a jeweler friend check the installation and he said it was proper. The positive terminal of the battery (CR 2032)is on top after you remove the back. I just checked again and the voltage is 3.16 V.

Yes, the instruction sheet was the key.

The positive side must face DOWN. Also make sure that the latch holding the battery in place is fitted back properly.

The battery that you have may be dead and the watch will not come. Try buying another battery from a different store and see if that works. If it does not, then try pressing the mode button by itself and see if it comes on. If it does not, try holding in all of the buttons and see if that will work. One of those should work.

Try reinserting the old battery and see if something comes on the screen. Then make sure you inserted the right sized and right power voltage battery or the watch will not work. Use the original battery for preferences for the new battery to make sure it is the same. Then make sure it is in the right way.

My watch does not show heart rate

I have a problem solving checklist about getting Heart rate readings in my tips and tricks page that may be helpful.

#1) you have to make sure the strap is across your chest and contacting the skin directly
#2) you have to push the button on the front of your watch to turn it on.

After that it should read automatically, there is no trick to your watch.

I just put a new battery in the Polar F4 heart rate monitor watch and it does not work. The battery died about 2 years ago and I never replaced it until now. How can I get the heart rate monitor working...

This is a common issue. The Polars and other Heart Rate monitors are not designed to be fixed by the consumers except for very specific models. These only look like watches, they are in fact mini computers and very susceptible to internal damage if not handled properly.

You need to send the unit it to a Polar Authorized Service Center to have fixed properly. There is not reset within the computer, if you had done everything correctly then it would work.

Hi - is the battery on the Polar FS2C changable - and if so how can I do it?

Open watch case back, then release the metal contact covering the battery. Memorize battery's polarity (+ up and - down), then take the battery out. Memorize the combination of letters and numbers on battery (should be something like: CR 3216 or similar). Make does not matter - Seiko is as good as Maxell, Panasonic and other reputable makes. Buy new battery with identical combination of letters and numbers and put in your watch. Replace back contact, gasket and case back. Set your watch and enjoy. Rate me, please.

Is it worth trying to replace battery of my heart rate monitor

You certainly have had good service out of the battery. It is best left to a watch repairer to replace the battery.

New battery needed and fitted to a Polar heart rate monitor

This is really easy to do yourself. Get a CR1632 battery, unscrew the four screws on the back (dont tip the watch as there is a small spring in the watch), unclip the metal band holding in the old battery noting the way 'round the battery is in (minus side up), pop in new battery and push clip back down, when re-fitting the back make sure the spring mentioned earlier lines up with the white sticker with a hole in it on the inside of the watch back, screw down the back. After you have re done all your settings you may need to re-aquaint the watch with the strap, to do this put on the watch and strap, set the heart monitoring going, bring the watch up close to the 'Polar' logo on the chest strap until the time is displayed, should now be all set up.

I have a mio euorfit heart monitor watch. During my workout I

Yes, you definetely need battery replacement.
As the hart rate monitoring is most sophisticated part of the device, it has more IC (Integrated Circuits) than any other features.
More IC's means more power is needed, so, if the heart rate monitor is starting to malfunction, that's the very first sign of underpowered battery.
Find your nearest watch repair shop and ask for battery replacement.

Do not forget to rate, please.

Polar F6

Hello,

It sounds like most of you have the heart rate set to display in % of max heart rate. Most Polar products have the option of heart rate in BPM(beats per minute) or percentage of max.

If you look at the display during the exercise, you will see a % icon. You can turn it off in by hitting the back button and go down to HR view settings.

Hope this helps.
