Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I have a 4gig Maxell flash drive in which I store family pics. Suddenly, when I plugged it into my laptop the other day, I was told it was not formatted and did I wish it to be so. Obviously I clicked on No as I didn't wish to lose my photo collection. But it means I cannot access any pics, yet the flash drive works perfectly OK in our kitchen TV and in our 7in digital picture frame. My three other flashes - all one gig - are troublefree too. Any ideas? Many thanks, Graham Andrews

Try it on another pc and if it works fine back up your pictures.
Go buy a new flash drive.
Then go to mozy.com and sign up for an online offsite storage account.
You can get a free 1yr account with 5GB storage

Hi,
If you are given a CD along the flash drive you can try installing the drivers and try back plugging in and using it. That might work.

look for a slider on the flash drive, I had a pny flash drive that had a slider that when enabled would protect the flash drive from accidental erasure or modification of the files.

Bought a 2gig maxell flash pen and wanted to use it for storing my work on it but i cant seem to work it and i need to save my work on this flash pen can some one please help

If you are using Win98 the problem is the USB ports themselves. You must locate and install USB drivers to make them functional. Other than that the USB should reconise the flash pen after a few minutes.
Now if it see it, to store in the drive, Save the information to a file/folder and then right click and choose SEND TO and pick the letter drive that is your flash pen and that will do it. If you can do drag and drop open the window that has your info and open a window that shows your pen drive left click and hold it down a drag it to the pen drive - when you see the + just release the left click and it should be on the pen drive.
Hope this helps you, good luck, please leave a rating, thank you kindly

CD BURNING

This sounds like a dirty CD Drive, you can purchase a CD Drive Cleaner from most electronic stores that sale blank CD's. Maxell and Memorex are good blank CD brands. In addition make sure you are storing the CD's in a dry, dust free area, also make sure after using the CD Cleaner that there isn't any dust or debri. Keeping the drive free and clear of dirty will help with performance, if this does not help the last resort would be to replace the CD drive.

IBM M51 ThinkCentre doesn t recognize 4gig installed memory

You can confirm this in the BIOS and i'm sure it will show 4GIG. Your Operating system maybe a 32 BIT OS, hence it will only show about 3... GIG. It's a limitation for a 32 BIT OS.

For each file you want to transfer to the USB Flash drive you right click on the file and you select send to. (Remember the letter of your flash drive)
