There is a button for the battery cover release on the bottom of the mouse. Slide the wireless usb adapter out and the button should be there.

Ok this take a strong hand to do sort of
1. grip the sides from the front end
2. grip the palm part top about half way of the mouse
3. pull straight apart (it sort of short snap that unlocks them from each other)
some slide apart to a halfway point to release then lift off cover or some pull completely apart
to place cover on it should slide together easily maybe with a little force but not much....
please make sure the batteriers are in properly because for safety reasons because its the pulling apart that can be accidental trying to slide the cover and the mouse apart from each other...
key points watch your finger grip properly but the top grip is halfway of the mouse but gripping the palming put on top because this can be the hard part of some people fingers and please watch your surrounding when pulling apart because of not knowing the amount of pressure of the grip and the sudden snapping apart can cause you to knock over things or bumpin parts of your body around the arms and elbows and if you put the batteries in wrong or use old store shelf batteries doing this routine over can cause accidents but it's a safety measure for the batteries and from kids ...
