Question about Fax Machines

1 Answer

I have an Optoma EP 739 projector. I turned it on and heard a 3 second grinding noise--it stopped for 3 seconds and made the noise again. The bulb did not come on during this grinding period.

Hi im tony i have a benq mp610 projector and i cant find the battery for the memory where do i locate it

Hi there,

Well there is no battery for any kind of memory in the projector, there is only a remote battery.......
For which purpose you need to find battery for memory?
If you like to reset your projector then go to main menu>>settings>>reset it helps you to reset your projector and returns all settings to the factory preset values. The following settings will still remain: Mirror, Language, Password, High Altitude Mode, Phase and H Position.

Do not reset if the lamp is not replaced as this could cause damage.
i. Press and hold the Exit ^ button on the
projector for 5 seconds to display the total used
lamp time.
ii. Press Auto on the projector or on the remote
control to reset the lamp hour to “0”.
iii. Wait about 5 seconds to let the OSD disappear.

Please post comments for more help or information......

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Strange whistling like noise coming from the toner area when printing. Prints are fine, worried about noise.

Could be a noisy toner cartridge.
Open the door, remove the toner cartridge, and close the door again. If the machine does a few seconds of motor running with no noise, then that is the cause.
Not usually a major problem, just nuisance value.

Loud grinding noise when paper is feeding through machine

Mine was indeed a gear problem. Took off the top cover and poked around. Found two areas that may have caused the grinding.
1. The lower roller shaft had slid to the left out of it's groove. By removing the handset cradle (3 release tabs are accessed underneath the toner hatch.) I could loosen the "gear box" (a black contraption with all the gears inside) and then snug the bottom roller into proper position.
2. I removed the "gear box" to look around. Don't know if I dislodged one of the gears while doing so, but noticed one was dislodged ;-)
This required opening up the gear box by removing 2 screws and lifting off the motor. Then i could get at a gear that had come loose from a claw sort of piece. Note: the teeth of the loose gear needed to be on the motor side when sliding it back into the claw thingy. It seems to use a metal clip for friction control and perhaps proper spacing.

I noticed "some" wearing of gears, but doubt this is an issue. This machine has been used VERY hard for years and now, just by re-aligning things, it works once again.

My googling barely found any mention of troubleshooting this machine, so I shudder to think what finding parts would be like.

Toshiba Super G3, e-Studio 170F

Fax display screen always reads, "Auto receive". When attempting to fax, the busy light flashes. Busy light stops flashing for 30 seconds, then starts flashing again.
Above is the default settings for the fax.

NGB0 indicates signal error or line condition error.
U need to check the phone line. U can hook any single line phone to the phone line, check for tones without background noise.

Hoping you can help with some advice...

does the noise still happen as you make a copy?
if everything is out :toner/drum, paper tray most likely it is the fuser, does the paper stop at the fuser entrance?
the only thing I can think of that turns during the warming up cycle are the toner, drum, paper lifting mechanism for the tray and fuser

Gears grinding with Brother Intellifax 4100

Does it only make the noise when printing. Do you hear the noise when sending out faxes? I have heard grinding noises onlt when using poor quality toner refills, or the fuser gear and or drive gear asm is stripped. First try a known good OEM toner.
