Question about Umax PowerLook 1100 Flatbed Scanner

Open Question

UMAX Powerlook 1120 UTI Problem

Our scanner is flashing all three of the Power/Ready lights on the front as well as the main scanning light. I am looking for an online version of the users manual as well as any advice on what the problem could be. One of our other instruments recently had a problem with a fuse going out, is it possible that a powersurge could have caused this? The scanner is plugged into a surge protector however.
Thanks for your help.

SOURCE: Umax PowerLook 2100XL - Driver

Go to

this download page on the UMAX site

and select your device (Scanner), then your scanner model (Powerlook 2100XL) , and your operating system, then press the "SEARCH" key.

Each page in the Download Area is in two languages - first German, then English, so page down to the English section.
Follow the instructions to download the correct driver for your scanner / operating system combination.

Note there is currently no driver available for Windows Vista.

When you've tried this solution, don't forget to rate it !

Good Luck.

Try Vuescan, it will not cost you much and will drive almost any scanner as well as handling more than one. I'm running a Canon FS4000 and 1120 on one version of Vuescan

Vertical colored lines in a scan

If the lines appear in the same location everytime, then it is from the scanner glass. Clean it thoroughly. No solvents except Isopropyl alcohol for cleaning.

The UMAX web site appears to have a fairly good knowledge base, especially when it comes to troubleshooting blinking lights. http://umax.com/support/knowledge/index.jsp Doing a search for lights under Support info result a few articles, including this one: http://umax.com/support/knowledge/search.jsp?docs=SC00322
